Sir I have done Graduation in Hotel Management and then did Masters in international relations and now pursuing MBA in Business Analytics and Data Science and for the last two year im working as data analyst in MNC, Would CFA would be the right choice as im very very passionate about Equity profile. I have not any finance background or class 11 12 commerce background, Plz tell as the job market asks for ppl with finance background or CA . CFA Program is meant for anyone who wishes to pursue a career in Investment Finance. It has no pre-requisite and provides all the necessary knowledge required in this area. You do not need an MBA or CA along with it.

For Future Value of Single Payment, my BA II Plus computed a FV of -1,550.63 instead of the vid's answer. Why the discrepancy? Looks like I had the P/Y set to 12 rather than 1.

Yes, you need to set the P/Y of your calculator to 1.0 instead of 12.0. Keep that as the default settings to work with.

Hello sir! Do you think it's a good idea to start the curriculum and coaching 8-9 months before the level 1 paper, because the prescribed time limit is 5-6 months , As I went through the syllabus and personally felt that I would need some extra time . Will the extra time be beneficial if utilised properly

Yes that is also a good strategy. You can take it slow and steady and cover the content from the CFA books and have ample time for revision and practice.

If you have been impacted twice, you are eligible for a refund. If you choose not to re-schedule your exam, refund requests will be accepted between 7 December - 21 December. The refund amount will be all the fees you originally paid for your June 2020 exam. If you choose the refund option, you don't need to take any action now. CFA Institute will message you with details on how to initiate your refund request before that date.

Hello sir I recently received mail from cfa institute regarding cancellation of December 2020 exam in which I was enrolled. Earlier also I mentioned that I have applied for study abroad to Canada for January 2021 intake. I have paid my fees and have also applied for visa as well. My question is I am not completely aware of that Canada will up lift its restrictions to allow international students for January intake 2021 to come Canada. Currently I am in india so what should I follow so that I don’t face any difficulties in my exam location or center . also I wanted to know the policies of change of test center as I am not confirm that I could reach Canada by December or not as it depends totally on Governments of both the countries. Kindly help me in this situation. Waiting for a positive response. Thankyou !

You may choose to delay your exam for a date later in the year 2021 and choose your test centre only once you are sure of the location where you would be at that time.

No there are no extra charges. You just need to withdraw from the current exam and then choose to register for the next one.

You may withdraw but you would need to register and pay again.

What are your options? Scenario 1: Stay registered for December 2020 exam and exam is conducted smoothly - we are all hoping for this. Scenario 2: Stay registered for December 2020 exam and exam is cancelled. In this case, you can choose to either take refund or postpone your exam to 2021. Most candidates would look to postpone to 2021 instead of a refund. So it is possible that Feb 2021 exam may be filled up for your desired date and test centre. So you may need to either travel to another location or choose to give the exam in May 2021. For Level 2 & 3 candidates the choice to give the next exam arises in earliest May 2021. And I doubt if there would be space issues for that exam for now. So there is frankly nothing to lose by staying put and taking your chances. Scenario 3: Withdraw from December 2020 right now and be certain to give the exam in Feb 2021. Take your desired test centre and date right away.

Two conventions used are ACT and 360. This refers to the number of days assumed in the year for calculation. ACT = 365 days in a year.

good video, it starts from the basics, i like it. I use a Casio FC-200V, which i've been owning for around five years. and i like it a lot. but BA II works so differently and i appreciate the video starts from the basics.

why not use BGN function to calculate annuity due?

Chen Bai Yes you can use the BGN function to calculate PV and FV of annuity due. We feel its easier to convert the (PV & FV) ordinary annuity to annuity due by simply multiplying by (1+r). Saves time for changing the mode of the calculator. You can follow the method that is convenient to you. Both are correct.
