Does it end in there? No way through to the other side?

Wonders of Scotland!👻 "Fingal's Cave" From where comes the sound of the flute. Can there be a cave,,,from which the sweet sound of the flute floats? You will think that you are either haunted or giving a joke. No mosquitoes, one of the amazing sea caves in the world is Fingals Cave. It is located next to Staffa, an uninhabited island off the west coast of Scotland. This cave is also called Sur cave. In the 18th century, Joseph Banks and his group first discovered the sound of this melody. Bank's team was enthralled by its beauty with 82 acres of land. They came and started preaching in the mainland. Since then, the popularity of this amazing cave has been increasing. Queen Victoria of England also visited this cave. The Scottish Government is committed to beautification. Now the must item for tourists is Fingal Cave. The interior structure of this cave is such that when the wind moves through it, a strangely beautiful and flute-like sound comes out of this cave. Anyone who approaches this cave on a full moon night and hears this melody will be mesmerized. It seems as if he is staying in a dreamland. The cave is made up of brilliant hexagonal basalt rocks that look as if they were man-made. Maximum height is 138 feet. A long time ago a lava flow from a volcano cooled and formed this shape as it flowed through the sea water. It is currently declared a heritage site belonging to the National Trust of Scotland. The North of Scotland I know : Cliff of pink volcanic granite, white sand, blue Aegean Sea, cool humid wind and an absolutely cloudless blue sky, behind the glaciation-worn hills of Scotland, the moor... I was first won over almost 50 years ago...

Whoever is adding the text to these videos - when i used to make tv adverts a good rule of thumb when displaying text was half a second for the viewer to recognise the text, then a second for every three words - four words a second if you must. Obviously in the olden days people couldn’t stop and pause thigs to read stuff… which i keep finding i’m having to do on these videos. It kind of spoils the flow. Can’t wait to visit here once my contessa is refitted😃

These videos are lovely - But why make them so short? a longer video would give more time to read the info and enjoy the view. the subject matter is slow and sedate, but the speedy way it’s presented makes it feel like you’re being pulled through too quickly. Looking forward to sailing here once I’ve finished my contessa 26’s refit.

Crikey! Looks a bit tight in there… would be useful to know where the visitor pontoon is.

Another very useful video, thank you - but a caption/arrow to point out the pontoon facilities and visitor moorings would make it even more useful when passage planning

These are superb videos thank you. If you could possibly add in a caption for the location of the visitors pontoons it would make them even more useful for first time visitors.

Not many people are aware of the fact that during the summers of 1957 and 1958 a detachment of approx 300 RAF personnel from the Airfield Construction Branch 5004 Squadron (mostly RAF National Servicemen) worked from April to September each year building the road to the top of the mountain and all the Military buildings and infrastructure. They lived in tents under arduous conditions (at times most of the tents and their contents were completely blown away) and in serious inclement weather the Servicemen took shelter in some of the old stone cleats). They worked for 6 days each week and It is recorded that these conditions led to 2 mutinies taking place. A quarry was opened and material for the roads and other buildings blasted Their link to the mainland was by 2 x 800 ton flat bottomed front opening Royal Navy tank landing craft vessels, manned by ROAC Army crews, who made the hazardous trips from the military port at Cairnryian as and when weather permitted. For any further info and photographs feel free to contact Mr Honey. [email protected].
