Did you colour grade or just leave as flat?
@thommick41422 жыл бұрын
I try to avoid intensive grading with 8-bit material. I use the flat profile to adjust the contrast curve in post-processing if necessary. Raising individual colors or slightly increasing the color value overall. That's good. The Nikon Z30 delivers an already very cinematic image and therefore rarely needs a LUT. The exposure is a bit dark, if necessary lighten the middle a bit.

@@thommick4142 Danke!

From a discussion regarding the data rates of the stored files in 4K video clips, I would like to go into this in detail. With the raw data for this video, I have a range of clips from 14,953 kBit / s to 85,695 kBit / s. Apparently the Olympus OMD10 Mark3 has a routine to analyze the content or how much movement in the clip is to be analyzed, because the storage rate for the quiet scenes is usually very low. However, it becomes interesting when comparing it with other Olympus cameras, again with regard to 4k saved clips. OMD 10 Mark3 on average approx. 34,000 kBit / s OMD 10 Mark4 on average approx. 87,000 kBit / s max. 94,408 kBit / s Olympus PL9 (PL10) on average approx. 88,000 kBit / s maximum 106,309 kBit / s OMD 5 Mark3 at 4k DCI resolution a range from 150,000 to 195,000 kBit / s here is a spontaneous comparison from filmed material with: Canon EOS M50 on average approx. 116,000 kBit / s Canon EOS RP on average approx. 120,000 kBit / s Lumix G9 at 25 fps on average approx. 94,000 kBit / s Lumix G9 at 50 fps on average approx. 144,000 kBit / s Fuji XE-4 averages approx. 203,000 kBit / s at the selected high rate These are not laboratory tests, but show a status of my filmed raw material on projects and tours.

Which lens you are using?
@thommick41423 жыл бұрын
In the Olympus version, I worked with the following two lenses, very inexpensive and simple. For Macro the Olympus M. Zuiko Digital ED 30mm F3.5 Macro. I took the teleshots with the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm F4-5.6. These are both very inexpensive, not very bright optics, but they are a lot of fun if you use them correctly. In daylight you can achieve beautiful backgrounds and cutouts, especially with the telephoto.

Could you please share your 4K camera settings? Picture profile, shutter etc.
@thommick41423 жыл бұрын
I use profile 4 (muted) on an Olympus O-MD10 (Mark3 or 4). You can use the menu or the button on the right to make further settings: I leave the sharpness at 0 Contrast -1 Saturation -1 Gradation normal This gives you a picture that is still fundamentally saturated and does not have to grade too much for an 8-bit format. With Olympus, the sharpness and clarity are not as good as with Panasonics, but the picture looks more like a classic film and less digital. I generally edit the film in Davinci Resolve with a slight contrast curve per adjustment layer and, if necessary, slight correction of the mids in the individual clip. For fun, I also lowered the color saturation in the low and high tones and raised it in the mid-tones. What I love most about Olympus cameras is the built-in stabilizer, which is simply the best in its class. This also means that every type of lens can be used, including prime and without stabilization. So also very inexpensive fixed focal lengths. Sometimes I use an ND filter at a frame rate of 25fps for the correct shutter speed (1/50). But I am often disappointed by the loss of sharpness and chromatic aberration that many ND filters bring with them.

@@thommick4142 Could you please tell me how to get maximum 4K video bitrate? I'm using a sandisk extreme pro card but whenever I record 4K 25fps the max bitrate is only 37mbps, and it looks very compressed. How can I change this?
@thommick41423 жыл бұрын
@@nathanmullally3451 Hello nathan, Unfortunately, I cannot promise you any better values from the OMD10 Mark3, because the Mark3 does not actually deliver high data rates at 4k. I will do a data rate comparison in a comment below the video in the next hour. For you in advance for this video: The clip with the lowest data rate was saved at 14953 kBit / s and is a static calm scene. The clip with the highest data rate was saved at 85695 kBit / s and contains a passing train. The camera actually delivers modest data rates on average regardless of memory cards, I use SanDisk Extreme Pro. On average, the clips for this video are around 34000 kbps or 34 mbps.

hello !nice pictures ... Why 250d or m50 at fullhd mode gets not sharp picrures??? 4k is ok- but crop! WHY?
@thommick41424 жыл бұрын
I only bought the Canon EOS M50 a few days before I started my trip. At that time there were hardly any videos and reports, so I used a neutral and flatter image profile for video myself. I also filmed with 1080p (FHD) and 4k video. On KZbin I have only set videos with 1080p resolution rendered. The difference may hardly be noticeable there. But in my private version, rendered in 4K resolution and viewed on my 4k monitor or living room TV, it is clearly visible. Nevertheless, the M50 also delivers a good video in FHD, can then also use the 50 frames and do a bit of slow motion. For landscapes and nature I would recommend 4k. The crop is less annoying than you might think, I often prefer a more tele-like style. I still have an M50 in my closet and I enjoy using it. I have optimized the camera and its settings over the years and think it has the best color profile for nature and landscape.

Fz300 winer
@thommick41424 жыл бұрын
With the right settings, the FZ300 is an astonishingly good camera despite the small sensor. Especially light and splash-proof for a fabulously low price. Really a shame that Panasonic does not bring out an update with a newer processor and JPG routine. It is very important to keep the ISO low, ideally only ISO 100.

@@thommick4142 do you think is it possible to bluer the background when recording with the FZ300
@thommick41425 жыл бұрын
It is also possible with the FZ300 to achieve a blurred background or a bookeh. Unfortunately not always so easy. It is best to use a long telephoto setting and a close-up object. However, this effect with the focal length can only be used with a minimum distance of up to a few meters with the FZ300. In the telephoto range, the lens has a large minimum distance! You can also support this with the light intensity or an aperture of 2.8. Then you should also screw on the optic a ND filter. With a variable ND filter you can also adjust the exposure and just leave aperture 2.8 and set the ISO not higher than 200. In the shadow or twilight is the FZ300 only ISO 100, everything else is muddy.That sounds harder than it is. I still enjoy the FZ300 a lot, although I am also on the move with higher-quality cameras. The FZ300 is really weatherproof, no problems with light rain and is quick to use.If it is very important to you, I can also try on examples of garden videos to reach the maximum Bookeh and compare with other sensors such as Canon EOS M50 or MFT.

nice capture.. what lens did you used and software editing? thanks
@thommick41426 жыл бұрын
I bought the camera only one day before the trip. For this I chose the two zoom optics E-FM 18-150mm and 11-22mm. Both lenses are small and lightweight. They already have a built-in stabilization. For landscape and daylight the optics are ideal! Since I had no experience with the Canon EOS M50, I filmed in the standard profile. It does not need much grading and color corrections. Therefore, I was able to work well and quickly with the programs of Magix, Video Easy and Fastcut. These are perfect for a first and quick clip Meanwhile, I'm filming with my own profile and reduce color, contrast and sharpness. With that I can use LUT's in Vegas Pro and get a lot more out of the raw material. Sometimes with corresponding material with log profiles (Lumix GH5) I still use DaVinci Resolve. It should not be forgotten that this also increases the processing effort.

Thank you for the praise. I just made a work video and wanted to make a comparison for myself. My expectations in the FZ2000 were great and I could not imagine that this camera would drop in a comparison. I think the Lumix G70 is the best camera in comparison. Meanwhile, I can also use this for the G81 (G80 or G85). At least with the latest firmware update regarding the stabilizer.

5:52 What settings caused such a jitter? And what was the ISO in this shot?
@thommick41428 жыл бұрын
I filmed all videos with ISO 400, cause in the first shots with FZ2000, there was cloudy November weather. Normally I try to use ISO 200. Otherwise, there shouldn't so much noise with ISO 400.In the very first shots with FZ2000, I have only set a 4k and cine-d Profile in the menu. A day later, I did more Settings and fine adjustments by contrast, noise and Color.I think in the morning shots the stabilizer is lightly better, but not perfect. I cannot say why and if there is a defect in the camera. I will send back that camera, cause too bad video and stabilizer quality.
