Proper genius from Manchester’s greatest guitar player hands down. His only low point since ‘77 was the pedestrian playing he had to on Morrissey’s Viva Hate.

John Metcalfe is pure raw genius! His music encompasses every emotion and texture you could imagine, you can almost touch it. His album "The appearance of color" is pure genius! This is music that can't be described with words... this ain't compositions of performing monkeys, this is the very voice of God.

That’s a lovely thing John. I’ve been listening to your music quite a bit recently. I did some work with Roger Eno and it made me revisit your albums. Congratulations x

John Metcalfe is the greatest composer of our time, without a doubt. Even Peter Gabriel knows it. I've been a fan since 2014 listening to "The Appearance Of Colour" The track "Sun" is the most beautiful piece I have ever heard, with many themes, tones, and textures ever-changing. The man is a musical genius.

Dear John, this track is a very nice peace of art. I still have great memories about your gig at Feinkost Lampe in Hannover a few years ago. Now I am looking forward to your new album Tree. I hope to see you in Elbphilharmonie Hamburg once in the Future. Greetings from Jürgen!

Brilliant performance. You all should be proud. I do have a bit of a critique however in that the video came off a bit "silly" in the middle. Not that I think you all weren't having fun while making this. Something about it just seemed off perhaps the speed of the visuals in contrast to the music. I don't mean to sound rude I feel like this was almost perfect. Again fantastic performance.

IT's very good playing and a fantastic piece. It really doesn't need help from the video, just a silly unnecessary distraction. The work and the players say it all.
