Wish there was a chart showing this content as it would be a great fishing room addition.

We don't have a chart showing flies at the moment, but we do have a hatch chart showing what is hatching each month in Interior BC that you might find useful! www.gofishbc.com/learn/fishing-tips/lake-fishing/match-the-hatch-a-guide-for-bc-lakes/

Clearly explained why i couldn't catch a trout during a daphnia bloom on a lake here in the UK. Not fishing deep enough in the daylight. I'll be better prepared next trip out. 👌

It also depends on the temperature of the water as well. As water density can vary with high & low pressure systems.so the sink rate of lines will vary as well. Plus if you are using mono or fluorocarbon line.

Please show the line next time.

Tied these dragonfly patterns up thirty years ago. They can be deadly in the right lake.

One of the best times to ,catch them from the shore line. Using floating trout paste on, a running ledger rig ser up.

Catch and release handling for warmer weather? Limit time at surface and minimize handling?

Yes, these are all good points to keep in mind as well. We have some other videos where we go into more detail on this.

Or you can just use a slider float method.

Or you can go to non fly fishing channel. How the heck your going to cast a slider float?

Oh boy, one of my favorite topics. I fish the historic waters of Carrie Stevens, the Rangeley Region on Maine less than an hour from home. Trolling with a flyrod is religious to me. I always have a fly dragging, sometimes a leech, dragonfly or streamer. Extremely effective when casting to structure isn't producing in these rocky big lakes.

Please stop the unnecessary stocking of the generic “500 FV catchables” into our quality Region 3 Pennask lakes after winterkills!! Winterkill cycles is what grows big Pennasks and the introduction of FV resource vacuums into those environments other than eliminating resources that would have gone to growing bigger Pennasks. Keep FVs in the Fraser Valley and the put and take lakes for the newbies and keep the quality marl lake stocking true to your stocking plans regardless of the natural, and necessary, cycle of winterkill. Thank you!

Of course, at some point the incessant gale-force winds and cold fronts ending would also help … the curses of early springs!

One of the rare sightings of Brian Chan in his natural habitat, not landing a monster trout. Yes I know, this is an instructional video, but still, I think we were ALL expecting to see a hook set here! Thx B

This technique of using full sinking lines and going deep can only work if you are on a boat. If you are on the bank and casting beyond the drop off, you will be guaranteed to snag or collect vegetation at every retrieve.
