the live action japanese deathnote movies had sort of their own canon and it was legitimately entertaining. Coming from a long, I loved these movies back in 2012 and such. The first movie of the japanese live action trilogy faithfully recreated some of my fav moments from the early episodes of the show, and in a couple of cases did them in different yet equally entertaining ways. much better than netflix deathnote. they even have english dubs lol. at least the first two do, though i think it's jusdt voice lines from the show's english dub.
