It’s all about knowing Purchasing power of buyers/clients. Which clashes with Value pricing

I tell all founders that try to hire me: do it yourself until you can build a strong financial case for investing in this, then come back and talk to me. It's the only ethical way to handle these situations where economic value is uncertain and likely non-existent. A year later, they either know if their idea is a bust for free, or you've got your best client ever.

I hate when people ask those long-winded questions with fluff and unlinked nonsense like the bald guy here. Chill on the ritalin my man.
@drgenio2006Ай бұрын
what? $1000/wk and this clown expects the dev to "do it mobile friendly because why wouldn't you". yeah keep hiring bottom of the barrel shit and bitching about it on the internet.
@drgenio2006Ай бұрын
sounds they're hiring a developer but they want a one-man band to do everything, from requirements, design and architecture, coding, testing, infra and delivery, all from one person, for 1/4 of a local dev salary. Clowns.

@@sub-wr9xi the title is wrong, otherwise it's good advice: test the market before building. usually you can't monetize the market test, despite the video title here.

When the project is being charged hourly (usually because the project brief is fuzzy or a moving target) I'll agree with clients to work in 10-hour blocks. That is, I won't do more than 10 hours per invoice. This allows me to invoice in increments and provides a natural pitstop for both of us to review the project and its progress so we can ensure it's on track and confirm the project can be completed on time and within budget expectations.

Great video but you can't really apply it on every industry, I'm work in wholesale produce and no one gets paid upfront, maybe a 30% deposit

In terms of naming your agency. Is it wise to base it on the differentiation? Just in case it changes over time?
@BluelineDesignStudio3 ай бұрын
I listened to Jonathan years ago on Chris Do's "The Futur" about ditching hourly... changed my life. I broke away from the agency I was with (who charged a day rate & hourly). Struck out on my own with clients and changed to fixed bid pricing. It has completely changed the way I work with clients for the better as well as more profitable. Just celebrated 5 years of independence. Thank you!!

Isn't that subscription bussiness same as hiring anyone ? Becouse the thing that no scope but can work only 1 guy... Isn't that a ahourly scope and again making fear in client how much he receive ?

Say I am getting a client a 8 million dollar deal, what’s a reasonably fee to charge them for me doing the leg work? 2% 5% it’s my biggest deal I’ve had a opportunity with and I don’t want to be greedy and mess up future deals.
