Given it has been 3 years since this vid was made, I'd be more than interested to hear how you got on by attaching a regular trickle charger to a Lithium Ion battery. My understanding is that it should not be done with a Lithium battery. I swear by Optimate and own 6 of them for my cars and bikes BUT they all use lead acid batteries. Please tell me if there's some sort of info you know about contrary to the many experts I've seen who say lithium does not respond well to trickle chargers - dangerous even. is yours a special lithium model charger - did I miss that? - or is it a regular Optimate designed for lead acid?

I’m riding a turbo levo comp alloy 2023 , 700wh battery and find with the right motor settings can get really good range. Eco 15/100 Trail 35/100 Turbo 100/100 I’m a double below knee amputee I weigh about 115 kg 47 years old I did a not so accurate range test , but it did show what’s achievable on this bike . I have a loop that I do that is about 12 mile with 1500 ft climbing , I average about 15% battery usage per ride . Riding the loop consecutively, without charging the battery each day I managed 5 loops , with 19% remaining. But was not brave enough to do a 6th 😂 So a theoretical range of 70 miles , never in turbo , but bursts of trail . Using the micro tune on the same ride I’ve managed to get 12 % usage on the same route, but had to work hard throughout

Thank you Very Much! I was installing the Kriega and then I saw only 2 straps underneath. Went to BMW because I thought the one on the front underneath the seat was lost. Nope, indeed it’s standard OEM. This is a perfect solution without making things permanent. Going to the Black Forest beginning of August. 👍🏾

Don t need to drill in anything mate !! Just put in my optimate cabel on mine...when toolbocx is off losen the right sccrew a bit then you abel to pull the left above site for 3 mm anough to sik both wires between plenty of space above box ! And opening is alreafy theare just make sure wires go s streath above. Optimate connector commes out by setting wheel rear suspention and then lock it down with zip tire 👍...grts from belgium...

My issue was most likely moisture in the cabin. After fixing a door seal and using damp-rid no more squeak. This could be the culprit before taking things apart for anyone with the issue.

I have had the same bike, and used a US20, since 2018. I use the two fitted straps on the seat, and found (with some fiddling) to attach two straps to the frame close to where the seat hooks in. It means I have the four loops - two being the OEM loops on the pillion seat and the other two being the Kreiger straps - no need to open the seat. Bike is in getting a it’s 60000km service (they sorted the hot start issue!) but will get a photo to show how I did it.

Hi great real world video thanks, I am on holiday in Canada and found a levo comp carbon in the US specialized site winter sale marked down from 9k to 6750 USD. I pick it up next week, having never had an ebike before just couldn't resist the deal even though it's still a lot of money. Can't wait to get out on it in the UK.

Thanks for the video! Shame you had to go through such trouble though. After watching your video, I decided I shell avoid such anguish. I looked very carefully for alternatives. It turns out, that, if you look up from below, you discover that the battery box has a very convenient slot in it, just above the terminals. Very easy to slide the wires from the top without cutting anything. The problem is, you'll never see it, unless you get down there and look up;) Cheers

By 'eck, you made a meal out of that. Rather than drilling tight holes in the back of the tool box just use a Stanley knife to cut a hole in the centre section about an inch square. You can attach the tail to the battery and then just feed the fuse through the hole. Much easier. 😊
