1. Set up a will with a revocable trust. Retitle house and wealth portfolio. Funding your Trust. 2. Comparing with the Jones. 3. Over Confidence leads to Lack of Diversification. 4. Don’t buy horses 🤣 (and yachts). 5. Failure to engage the beneficiaries early enough.

Our major issue is that we all set up our own structures before we made it big and now the tax implications of merging them together are huge!!

For sure - that is common, you just have to weigh the long-term cost of those assets growing much more and keep on top of ever-changing laws around new and old structures. It does help to be well-versed in the options though so you can at least request or structure in collateral, require gross revenue royalties, preferred returns, and plan out scenarios or gain control or put in place negative controls, etc. while negotiating deals or designing your own class of sharing in an LLC etc. so you can protect yourself and your downside while taking advantage of opportunities.

Yes, my travel scheduled changed that week so the video quality is not amazing but Tim was for sure. I love his approach life with Gusto attitude and energy, he is so pro entrepreneur as well. We swam with turtles a few times this past week, our goal is to see an octopus (my spirit animal) in the wild now that we live in Hawaii like you.

Real estate is great for wealth preservation and sometimes wealth creation. Your advice is spot on based on my 10 years of being in the SFO world. Too many people focus on pitching rather than building relationships and understanding what a person actually looks for. Offer to be of value FIRST, spend 18 months getting to know people and THEN make the pitch. Your events are always excellent and informational Richard.
