I heard this cat on The Jazz Groove doing a full up, orchestrated, very interesting Weather Report kind of thing. It was a great arrangement and it cooked good. So I looked him up here on U-Tube to find some more of that kind of real-core stuff and all I find is this lightweight, sappy "smooth jazz" crap. I listened to like seven or eight different tunes and they all just sit there, no motion, no swing, no arc, no story, no depth, no color. Just Wes-lite bouncy-happy tunes. Where is the real stuff?
