thanks man! i have a samson q2u. it's a dynamic mic. i have a xlr to usb c, cable so i can plug it into a box, to plug in the wall for power. im still not getting power. i don't want to get a mixer just to get power

Its audio is 100% better, compared to my GoPro Hero 5. It's incredible, and I love the control we can have when using a handycam. Maybe you can use headphones to check if the audio is good. Your camera and the simple way of recording are captivating. Say hi to Brazil. A hug stay safe.

I just bought one used. I have several digital cameras and was sooo tired of trying to track things with zoom outside and having no viewfinder. It's nearly impossible in bright light. and although bridge cameras do the job well,they are very bulky. I wanted something small. Well this camera is VERY impressive. It's way smaller than my G15 and 4 ounces lighter,and 30x zoom compared to 5x zoom to boot. I really dig it. Many creative settings too.

Interesting video. One minute only the right of the picture was sharp, another and everything was sharp then another and only the background was sharp. It seems to focus hunt, badly.

What wide angle adapter did you use? Most of them aren't "zoom through" capable and decrease the IQ when zooming in.

Why didn't you just record a few seconds of footage with the exposure set at 1.5, then 1.0, and then 0.5, so you could compare each setting, to see which was best?

2024 just bought the R80 it's the same thing but with 16gb internal storage instead of 32gb. It was $322 pre-owned came with battery, adapter cable and some other stuff.

I have M200 and Rebel T7 and I love both. M200 is a fantastic hybrid solution video-photo that I am using for my stree photography and my expressionist videos.

interesting. I purchased my HDR-CX455 for $229 back in 2017. I think Sony discontinued it, but for some reason they keep the HDR-CX405 in production for sale.

I know it's an old video, but I was curious if the Sony has a mic input. I currently have 2 of the Vixia HF 9800 which does have a mic imput and I was looking at picking up one more camera for my multicam vlog setup. It's strange that here in 2023 the Canon is quite a bit more expensive than the Sony... maybe because they are becoming harder to come by. Also I believe the Sony is not threaded to adapt a lens accessory.

I have the R800 and think it's a great camera, but the lens is so retracted it is probably what causes the cropped image. I use it mainly for imaging in astronomy, so I am curious if the Sony's lens is threaded and how far back from a filter the lens is. I just saw that it doesn't have filter threads so that nixes the camera for me. I need threads so I can attach it to my telescopes. Probably why I wound up buying the R800. Otherwise it would have been a better option. Thanks for the video!

I bought this to replace the JVC evario 630 from 2006 I do not have a way to edit MOD file. Plus the video is a bit grainy in low light situations. And this is 1080P. Not 720.

The 1080p footage from the card is better, but much too massive a file for KZbin, so I edited the simultaneously recorded 720p files from the 32gb internal storage. For the money, even in 2023 she still cannot be beat for versatility and pocketability.

I have the cable that you say it does not work. I don't even get any power when I plug the xlr into Shure MV7 mic and the other end into my matchbook pro. one of end of the cable is USB but i plug it into the USB-c interface. What am i not getting any power?

I just recorded in 4k 24 for 56 minutes today May 13, 2023. I was shocked also. I had the Sony FE 24 G F/2.8 lens. I thought also of the 30 time limit and was shocked. I did the recording on Auto. I was recording at the same time the ZV-E10 in 4k 30. I had dummy batteries in both cameras. I am processing the videos right now. It should take KZbin 5 hours to render. Cheers!

What preset on the VixiaHFR800 would be best for a music concert that is in a small scale theatre? I keep it on Auto but I noticed that the footage is not too clear when zoomed out so that I can see the whole stage, I found that when zoomed in close on the performer the camcorder is much more clear - is this because I am zoomed in and the cam has more light? I am taking video from the concerts I go to see so that I have the memories of them so I just want to get stage video that is not blurry. The presets are low light, spotlight and cinema (or theatre?) and i am wondering what would work best if I am zoomed in on the performer as I think maybe the cam can get enough light source from the stage lighting so maybe I should just keep it on the auto setting? I do realize this isn't the best cam for concerts, most of the videos I come across for this camcorder are used for vlogging - also Canon has discontinued the VixiaHFR800 so its hard to find anything about settings for concert/stage settings and my skill at this is low.
