1 c flour, 1/3 c sugar 2 spoons vinigar, 2 c water sliwly added as smooth, stir slow to disolve sugar, then heat low stir constant once thickened. Once starts to get to runny potatoes turn off heat and cool. Now paste. Blend in blender for liquid glue. Air tight fridge 3 months.

Am I the only one who has done this recipe and every other recipe and still don't have any clay that doesn't crack or crumble. It's not super strong, trinket dishes bowls and simple cookie cutter hearts break without much effort at all. Also, forget making gnomes with the glue clays because they lose their shape and sink into, I don't know, I guess shorter fatter hobbits before they can dry enough. What am I doing wrong? I've made every recipe and even combined recipes, still I can't find something that I can use. Ugh

does this rot?
@TED.WANTS.TO.LEARN.Ай бұрын
7 months late reply but because of the vinegar it should prevent moulding and rotting, u can add a layer or nail polish or modpodge or some glaze to further prevent it but the vinegar should do just fine 👍

Thanks for this tutorial❤❤ Wonderful clay for venting out anger😂😂🤪🤪 A few tips / suggestions / clarifications: 1. Maida and all purpose flour are both the same. 2. Lemon juice and vinegar are substitutes for each other. They are preservatives which prevent spoilage. They are required only if you are making a large quantity and plan to store the clay for a long period. 3. Vegetable oil and baby oil are substitutes for each other. They keep the clay soft and pliable. 4. One tsp of vaseline/ moisturizer/ body lotion applied on the hands and greasing the base before kneading works wonders. Use any one. This keeps moisture intact and prevents cracks once dry. 5. I tried this recipe with corn starch alone avoiding maida. It worked. My ratio was 1 cup corn starch: 1/2 cup glue, 1 tbspn oil, 1 tsp vinegar and NO WATER. 5. My trial had 5% shrinkage but no cracks. 6. I did not mix colors in the clay but painted after the craft dried. 7. My clay was the uncooked variety. 8. Orally you mentioned "2 tablespoons vinegar" but on the screen the text says 2 teaspoons. 9. In India corn starch is white but corn flour is yellow. 🤔🤔 In case this is helpful, anyone can try.
