Haha. I know that feeling having done it before. It's better than not playing anything for many measures like we do at concerts. We have to keep the beat! We're like the percussion.

@@ndrhodes22 I think I've asked you this before. But when playing the euphonium, do you need a smaller embouchure, or opening of the lips, as compared to the tuba? I've been trying to play my baritone horn for a few years now and haven't gotten it right.

@@Random04736 It really depends on where you go and how competitive your high school is and how much you put into it but personally high school band is super fun for me I’ve improved a ton and I get lots of awesome opportunities!

That is a tricky song to play because it's fast. Looks like your bell is dinged and dented. What happened? I've seen you with that sweater in other videos. You look nice in that. Thanks for sharing your Tuba Christmas videos this year! I heard the weather was tricky out in the Quad Cities. I got to do mine last week, but only had a little coating of snow to deal with.

@@OriginalRussianSpy Tuba Christmas is a super cool event that happens in multiple cities in every state around the country and basically tubas and euphoniums come together and rehearse a book of Christmas carols and then perform them it’s an amazing event and if you wanna see some super cool examples look it up on KZbin because there are some massive tuba Christmas’s out there!!!

@ OK! Thanks! It was a fine performance! I watched another KZbin video of it from a standard point of view (instead of from a tubist’s perspective). I already sent a thank you note to the conductor of the University’s wind ensemble but I couldn’t find a way to contact your conductor through your high school’s website. Could you please do me a favor? Please thank your colleagues in the wind ensemble for their preparation and their performance. Also, please thank your conductor for programming the piece. I've never played Sleigh Ride, but I'd love to try it out. Looks easy with all that oompah you do. Also, it's cool to see your Adam's Apple move up and down while you play. You should see it for yourself.

@@rhd1974 This run was our first time going all the way through drill of the first movement with no playing. Later that night we added music for all but the last 20 measures but I wasn’t able to record that just yet.

@@rhd1974 Yup I went back to tuba after a couple weeks because I was filling in for someone! I do love those close up videos the only reason I don’t do it for this band is because it’s a more professional setting but I’ll be sure to get back on recordings like that with my high school!!!
