These were the times, shout to the glebe eds/ lea village/ chelmsley Wood/ meadway/ shard end. Starlight was our own 🕉 also all the heads who went to starlight 1+2 @ smallheath leisure centre an Handsworth leisure centre, villa leisure centre, the list goes on

Oh man! I'm back sat in my room as a bored teenager listening to Sunrise FM, then were told there is an important announcement coming up soon. The station was to change its name to Starlight! Listened every weekend. I genuinely cried when the realisation came after a few Fridays that they weren't coming back. I've been addicted to finding pirate stations ever since. Nothing much on FM anymore in Birmingham so its medium wave and shortwave for pirates these days. Big thank you to everyone involved in putting Starlight on air and Scooby Woo for making this available. Really put a smile on my face! Fight For Free Radio!

Miiiiint man I remember when the station went down so we went on the roof of the block at the pool way only to find some cunt had ripped the aerial down but it was back up straight away back oooooooooon!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣❤❤❤❤❤

Last I heard of Starlight, they were going to go on shortwave as well as FM from the next weekend. Never heard of them again. Must have trawled the 49 and 41 meter band a million times in hope.

Yep, tripping balls on Purple Ohms or Smileys (could have been either TBH) - listening to this station on our Walkmans, tripping on the roof of Trevelyn House - 'The Wood' at 3am!! That view tripping tho... Best years of my life!! (that tune is a remix of LFO - LFO BTW)

Big ups to mr a . It's nez here , lost so many tapes of sets . I know loads were done , be great to hear some. I spent many a night tripping of my quite large tits , with Kenny and Ian , Nicky b . Amongst others. Pool way flats we love yah.
