Redragon has updated the S101 to Wireless (S101-PKS) about $54 Retail. The AZIO KB505U is still available in December 2024 as it good for Seniors/Elderly because of large lettering and yes it a bit noisier so older people can hear the pressing of the Keys. Regardless of the key noise, AZIO KB505U is still good for the price $34 retail if you are not a Gamer. The older style Microsoft Keyboard is another Keyboard I would use since I am not a Gamer. I just like Full Size Keyboards with MEDIA buttons usually found with keyboards that have 104 - 110 keys. Also, Illuminated/Backlite and wireless is a must. Sadly, too many Keyboards or the better ones always come in Black. I prefer White as during daylight easier to see the Keys. Last, you never know with Redragon keyboards which Keys will Malfunction to lite up. Another issue is the cheap DPI Mouse either to sensitive or won't track. Logitech use to make good affordable Keyboards. However, Logitech still makes excellent MOUSE's /Mice. I have purchased 3 Redragon S101-PKS wireless Gaming keyboards and even though they use Membrane instead of Mechanical pads/keys they work just fine. It is the Mouse that is not that very good. I am not a Gamer but a person who requires a Full Size Keyboard with Media buttons who wants Wireless and Illuminated/Backlit Keys. I also use the CM (Cooler Master) Storm Devastator which is a Membrane/Mechanical Hybrid keyboard. The Redragon S101 has Laser Etched Keys with a soft rubberish-plastic caps and yes! with hard forceful typing and oily fingertips or having munchies while using the Keyboard they will look like what you've "Linus Tech Tips" shown in his video. I highly recommend the Redragon S101 wired or wireless as an affordable Keyboard under $55 and when on Sale $35 to $50. You don't need maximum key backlighting even though some keys appear to be dimmer across the keyboard. If the Redragon Logo bothers you, place dark paper with tape or duct tape over it. Ergonomics is up to the individual as I have been using and owned many desktops and laptops since 1979. Then again, I am not a Gamer since Gamers are very rough and could say abusive to their keyboard and clickings on the Mouse. Alternative could be CORSAIR K70 MAX RGB Magnetic Mechanical Wired Gaming Keyboard -MGX Adjustable Switches, Simultaneous SOCD and Rapid Trigger, PBT Double-Shot Keycaps, Sound Dampening, 8000Hz Polling, QWERTY NA, Black, Sale $150. I've been using the CMStorm Devastator since July 2017 and it is still fully functional and the Blue backlit keys work fine but it is Wired so time for a change to go Wireless. Why Three Redragon S101 PKS keyboards as I have 5 desktops which 3 are DIY Builds? My 2 college grad kids living at home and have gifted them each one and then I need one. My kids mostly use their Laptops but for larger projects use their desktops, They don't play PC video games either. We don't have Xbox, Sony Play Station, Nintendo, Wii. I did not mind playing Atari back in the early 1980s but I am a 1970s Pinball machine guy. I read somewhere that Redragon is a subsidary or brand of MSI. So, in 2021 MSRP $55. it sold for $44.99 with a $3 off coupon on Amazon. It now goes for in January 2025 $39.99 not much of a drop in 4 years. No sure about the lag difference between the Wired and Wireless as likely to be in milliseconds. If you are a true Gamer maybe Wired is best since the Price between Wired $40 and Wireless $50.

Model 1 HD has an actual Yamaha sound chip, i'm sure the other Model 1 have Yamaha chips too but worse filtering. Model 2 has the FM audio built into an ASIC, it's actually on paper spec as good but there's some issue with PSG audio levels and such. With a MEGA AMP you can get better filtering on any Model 1 and just as good audio from a Model 2. Model 2 actually has a better video encoder chip and doesn't have rainbow banding, you can fix those issues with a tripple bypass mod board to get better video. I don't know about the JVC or CDX models but i assume they're based on either Model 1 or 2.

Well my second hand cartridge is not reading so the risk is basically none. It is too old to ask for a refund and worst case it stays unreadable. Thanks for the advice! Yay! My cartridge works again :).

When you game, especially mmo or fps you want your hand closer together and plenty enough space for the mouse to move without hitting anything so half boards are just more comfortable

Sometime in ‘94/‘95 I got a Genesis 2 at a pawnshop. I, foolishly, traded my SNES for it because the cable company was offering the Sega Channel and I wanted access to all those games. Once I got it, I realized that most of the games were boring and none of them looked or sounded better than the Super Nintendo. Yeah, I screwed up.

I think we can honestly say that that gaming generation had the most catchy ads than anything else that came before or after it. Nintendo had the "Wii we would like to play" moniker, Sony had the Kevin Butler character and Microsoft..... well.... they had the red ring of death. Then again that generation did not have LIVE SERVICES, SEASON PASSES, LOOT CRATES and everything else that the Xbone PS4 gaming era ushered in...

Well this video is quite a simplification. The original model have alots of revisions (from VA0 to 7) and the VA7 is the worst. But VA0-2 have some issues with sound too beeing to harsh and there are a audio fix for that. I think one of best versions is a VA4 (the last version of High Definition Graphics branding). In europe, were i live, the first model were VA4, then all High Def Graphics models are VA4. I don't think there are any big differences between VA4 to VA6, then some non-high def graphics will have a proper sound. The model to avoid are VA7 unless you mod it using triple rgb bypass mod.

This cleaned my cartridge but not enough to get it to work. There was some really caked on junk that wouldn’t come off, so I wrapped a tissue around a credit card, dipped it in alcohol and was able to really scrub off everything and now the game works.
