You can’t beat a rooster. I always come back to them. I’ve only know. That fish as a rock bass. Is there another name for them?

Mr. Stefl was my high school Spanish teacher in the early 90s in Nashville. He had some memorable expressions. One of my favorites, a reply to an incorrect answer or a dumb question, was "Boy, that's Spanish 1, day 1." I always thought that would sound good in a country song - do it, Charley! Mucho gusto verte.

I DO NOT live anywhere near a clear looking lake like that ! Luckily the beetle spinner works pretty well in the Nebraska lakes nonetheless.

My friend lives there and they put a chemical in it to keep the moss at bay. It also turns it that really cool blue color.

I grew in the 70s-80s and the Beetle Spin was a mainstay in farm ponds , rivers, and lakes. That along with the Pop-R , Panther Martin , Rooster Tails. The old chartreuse Rooster Tails retrieved just fast enough to keep the blade spinning would irritate just about anything that swims enough for them to want to kill it.

Oh yeah, the ole rooster tail. Love those!

What size and color do you recommended for River Trout fishing when current is not too fast nd deep is about 4 feet or less. Thanks coach!
@fishingwithcoachbrown70544 ай бұрын
I apologize. That info is out of my league...But, my go-to color for everything, if available, is white with black stripes. Hope this helps!

I have a couple friends that like to dog me for using beetle spins. They catch fish though, plain and simple. I modify them sometimes; exchange the nickel blade for a gold one, replace the plastic with a swimbait or a grub, etc.
@fishingwithcoachbrown7054 Жыл бұрын
Let them dog ya, and keep reeling them in! I may try those modifications. Thanks!
