Festive stories CAN be good, but a lot of them tend to be the Hallmark-y cliche...crap... A christmas movie Christmas Movie on Hulu takes the cake, though. It is the ULTIMATE...Hallmark movie.

The terrible thing about anxiety is that it's usually accompanied by depression...eventually...the two do not mix very well. My trick is to try to do meditation every now and then. I get into bouts of mental tangles and it's very frustrating, but somehow writing makes me sort it out, as convoluted as my stories can be. Oh! and exercise. It doesn't sound fun, but it never does. It is WONDERS for depression. Even just going for a walk, fresh air is VERY important.

Nanowrimo with 2 jobs is HARD. The only way I was able to get writing done was (thankfully) working at a slow cafe where I was allowed to bring my computer, otherwise I would've been too tired to get any work done. Note to self: If you're LITERALLY falling asleep on the job...work fewer hours.

It's normal to have doubts, especially during preptober. Keep at it, though, and don't feel like you can't just take a break when you need to during November. Burnout is harder to come back from than writer's block.

Hi Amy. thanks for this video, its really great. you think you can do a video explaining how to separate a set of short stories into one manuscript using scrivener? also, one video explaining how to separate a story into scenes and chapters in scrivener?
@amyscribbler98694 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thank you so much for requesting content but unfortunately I do not use scrivener, I'm a google docs user. I'm so sorry I couldn't be of help. However, if you look up Kate Cavanaugh or Abbie Emmons on youtube, they are big scrivener users and have lots of videos on how to use it. I'm sorry again, hope this helps!

The editing process is eating me alive. Love the story so much, but when I write I just let the words fly. Now I'm just...so much words. Know it needs to be cut down to become a more structured story, but why does it have to be so hard?

Got here first! Awesome! I wouldn't worry so much about the natural flow of events. STory telling requires non-stop progressive complications. Life is literally NEVER like that. For instance, my wife watched Gray's Anatomy for years. That hospital never had a good day, ever. The only thing I would say about sequels is that you can never deescalate, things have to get worse, challenges bigger, and the stakes higher. It's exhausted just thinking about it.
@amyscribbler98694 жыл бұрын
I tried watching that once and just couldn't handle the chaos! But you're right, got to have high stakes!
