Lol... please don't insult tennis by calling it checkers and padel being chess 😂😂. If anything tennis is like chess and padel is checkers. Whole world plays and watches tennis, bigger money, bigger events whereas nobody really cares about padel. Padel is like another squash.

Pickleball has exploded in the US with over 13 million players. BUT, POP is doing very well also with almost 2 million players worldwide. Pickle has a much easier lower barrier of entry. Very small court, slower ball, less speed and athleticism needed. So more people of different ages, talent levels and athletic ability levels can easily play it. POP is a little harder and faster than Pickleball but still fairly easy to play for beginners. Both sports doing well, just at different growth levels.

Forgot to mention Padel is so expensive to play. £30 per hour. Doubles 7.50 each. Tennis £2.00 a week and you can play as often as you like. I played 12 hours last week. Played Padel just once last week and it cost £15 for 90 minutes. Nice to play indoor though

I love tennis and love Padel. I play both to a decent standard. Take it from me it’s far harder to win a point at tennis than Padel. Once you have the correct technique it’s easier to play Padel than tennis. In both sports you need to peel the onion before the winner. If anything tennis is more of a chess game than Padel as there is no room for errors.

Alls you have to do is smash it so as it hits off the wall and comes back over the net? Why couldn't you just do that off the serve and never lose? Pretty flawed. The walls actually add complexity because you can play off the walls with your shots. This is actually far more complex than tennis less athleticism required for sure, but the complexity and number of options available to you is much higher.

Power is nice. Control is more important. Until a player learns control, more power is less likely to produce the desired result. Macci is right about not overcooking it. If the player is hitting the ball correctly, the ball should not be going into the bottom of the net. The results reveal whether the shot was properly executed.

Indeed, the slice shot is not a defensive one. It can be used to change the pace of the rally, approach the net, give the opponent a different spin, etc. Thanks for the tips!
