I appreciate your video, I did not watch it entirely, but I appreciate the effort.. beautiful sky I noticed, not many people on the beach which is great.. you mentioned Kata, the one I was fascinated and made prior to your video some research, looking forward after my 3 weeks in India, to fly in November to Thailand and spend some time in this magic country who's welcoming all people and us from Canada! Thank you!

Really ugly beach. I had the same problem in nusa Dua @ ritz Carlton. Actually in Bali most beaches suffer from low tide problem. They become Rocky ugly stretches for most part of the day. I am not so sure about seminyak. But nusa Dua & ulluwatu r same. I saw ur seminyak video but couldn't make out the same.

I think the man in the blue top outside Thailandia is the guitarist who plays in the restaurant. My friend and I ate in there every evening…great food and music. I will be back in Ao Nang the start of January

Hi, your idea of a sunomi is a little off. Mostly Hollywoods fault for showing a giant wave hitting. The 2004 Sunomi was caused by a massive earthquake about 1,500 miles away from Thailand and extremely deep in the ocean. We didn't feel a thing or have any warning at all! Also it's not a giant wave, it's a tidal surge that is tremendously speeded up, one minute it's up to your knees, another upto your waist, another all of a sudden there's 14 feet of water over your head! You can't believe the power of it, I saw it bend steel, break concrete, pick up a two decker tourist bus like a potatoe chip and carry a 70 foot fishing trawler a half mile inland and then dump it on top of a couple of palm trees and some cars. I was standing on the beach on Dec 26th 10.30 am at Patong beach, Phuket, just finished my morning walk. Was living there the previous 8 months or so. This will make you laugh, the one thing that saved my life? I had been a boat owner in Marina Del Rey, California and a member of the auxiliary coast guard, u had to take classes to get qualified. Anyway they taught 1 gallon of sea water weighs 8.8 lbs. When I saw the entire bay empty out and a white crest line across the horizon for some reason I thought we'll that's got to be millions of gallons of water multiple by 8.8 I started running towards my hotel to get to the 3rd floor. Never thought tidal wave or sunomi, that was the first in 500 years. I believe the final count was around 500,000 to 600,000 dead in 8 countries. As u saw a LOT of bodies washed out to sea and never recovered. I plan on moving back the end of this year retired and I figure if God wants me, well he already has let me go a few times in my life..... Thanks for the video and your service. Yes you are correct it is more of a tidal surge. I mostly know of the waves that hit Banda Aceh and Phuket. I call them waves. But really they are more like ripples in the ocean at larger magnitudes. But yes what you said is correct. I call them large waves because most layman don’t know what a tidal surge is but they do know what big waves are

It’s not because people are littering that is ocean trash that wash’s ashore. Ships go through the straits of malacca and throw trash overboard

I left Karon 3 weeks ago, 26th May, the surf was very rough and the tourist numbers were very low, and it was a good time to visit. I have been to Karon many times and return in September. There are plenty of things to do once you work out where to look.

For my birthday in December we had been meaning to visit Kamala but on 2nd thought , the beach is very dirty and not taken of at all. We are now redirecting our focus on which Thai island to visit next . Thank you for your informative video.
