Hi Maddie, do we need to add a picture of us in the CV? Like is it considered unprofessional?
@maddienz116 сағат бұрын
Hi! You don't need to, but in my opinion it will always help you to have a picture of yourself in your CV - take a nice photo of yourself looking tidy and professional - like a passport photo but make sure you smile! And then add this into your CV 😇 good luck !!

Public transport around Wellington is excellent.. The standard of driving is appalling. You take your life in your hands when you go on the road in a car. Dreadful drivers. NZ has one of the highest death rates on the roads, per capita, in the world.

I think the tall poppy thing is more about not being too arrogant and recognizing your success is often due to chance circumstance or luck. It comes back to our egalitarianism.

There is only one thing is that you are an idiot to move there .
@maddienz18 күн бұрын
thanks for your comment keith! why is that??
@KeithDevine-k9q8 күн бұрын
Because there is 360000 New Zealanders living in Australia and more arriving every day.The ones who have been here for years are taking up Australian citizenship since the NZ prime minister winged to the Australian government to make it easier for all them kiwi bastards to gain citizenship.WHY? Do you ask ,well it would have to do with getting money through pensions or some sort of pension / benefit.,it wouldn't be a love for the country.They are then duel citizens,how the hell can you be loyal to two countries has got me baffled.New Zealanders don't like us,but that's ok with me,and a lot of people I know don't give a rat's because I feel the same about them but maybe stronger.As a returned serviceman,I think this bullshit about Australia and New Zealand our strong ANZAC connection It's all crap that was inWW1.In Vietnam they had a small token force and since then Australia has been doing the heavy lifting and they have done SFA.

Hey Maddie, ex pat living in Sydney now. Maybe do some content around sports, to give the newcomers some ideas on how to make friends and build up their friends circles. Also some content on churches is another good way to meet people and make friends. Music lessons is also a good way to make friends, because you get the number eight wired mentality and go to make music with friends. Good for thought.

hey! thanks so much for your comment, these are really great ideas! I'll definitely suggest these things in another video - I made a lot of friends through sports so this helped me a lot!

We just had NZs biggest protest against a government. Half a century of race relations got deleted by a man who got 30 million by inflating the cost of living. 300,000 people peacefully protested. He told people to email parliament but he wasn't thinking that people might be upset... so many people emailed parliament that the parliament computers crashed. NZs far away from everywhere so I reckon it's a good place to see out this hell global change that no-one can avoid. Yip, you're only 27. A great age to commit to a change because your brain's matured so can decide to rewire out of whatever whoever did to you and settle down so you give kids a solid mom!😊

I love hearing you in English for once, because your good English is evident here. I have to admit that I thought your accent would be more difficult to understand, it's very nice that you sound neutral, I really appreciate your effort. I am currently trying to get a job in Remote (without much success to be honest, I guess I don't know what to apply for xD) for NZ and in the future (1 or 2 years) move and try. Spain is in absolute chaos and NZ seems like a paradise where rules and civility are respected!

Sorry but I think the beaches around Nelsion Abel Tasman etc are beautiful , very popular in summer with tourists and locals alike, plenty of opportunities for swimming, diving kayaking, and with their golden Sands are the equal of any in the north/ There's also swimming with Dolphins etc plus the wonderful Whale watch experience in Kaikoura which you didn't mention. I agree for cultural experiences and geothermal activity the North is the best and although the west coast has glow worm caves those in the north are larger and better as is the history partcularly that associated with the British Colonists and early missionaries, I haven't forgotten Hobbiton which is a superb attraction for Lord of the Rings fans !

We have Katipo spiders that are similar to Black Widow spiders. But Katipos are shy, mostly on beaches and not that common. The odd sea snake washes up but they are very rare here and do not like our cooler waters. There have been shark attacks but they are very rare. Occasionally people are stung by wasps or jellyfish. But on the whole we do not have the same problems with animal predators as other countries.

The tall poppy syndrome we have here is just straight out jealousy. Our beaches are warm in summer in the Far North. It’s just a shame the crime is rampant up there. Central Otago is beautiful and the crime rate there is extremely low. The further north you head, the worse it gets.

The tall poppy syndrome stems from the whole reason we're here. Our ancestors left England to get away from the class system of the rich landowners having all the rights and voting rights, the working class had NO chance to get ahead. Their only option was to get passage on a ship out of the country. That's why we don't like the rich flaunting their wealth about, those are the people our ancestors sailed halfway around the world to get away from. We don't mind people being rich and successful, it's how it affects their attitude towards everyone else that makes the difference.

Have u visited Wellington? That’s our arts centre, with many theatres the Royal New Zealand ballet base, Te papa our national museum with exhibits always changing it free entry, Cuba st carnival, our preforming arts university, and interesting and strange looking people always wandering around. Many art galleries and installations also film festivals and WOW world of wearable arts, an international event. And every suburb has a turn at a weekend street festival. Also homegrown our largest concert here showcasing our kiwi artists. Also have jazz festivals, and of course Courtney Place is the street with all the bars and night clubs on it, making it much easier to enjoy different venues. It’s a walking city, everything is close and our public transport system is the best in the country. It’s also the food and coffee capital, having more per capita than New York City. It seems u may have chosen the wrong city if u are into this kind of scene. Auckland is our business centre and city of sails and is very spread out. Oh and every summer our botanical gardens have a sound shell that hosts a variety of different musical acts every weekend, so u take a picnic and a blanket and listen to opera, classical, blues and all sorts of others, and it’s completely free. Also we have a beach right in the city.❤ The arts and the cultural scene are Wellington based for sure. People watching in Cuba street is always a treat as u never know what you may see.
