Rodney King, Reginald Denny, and all the other innocent ones didnt deserve any of this! Mr. Denny confirmed he didnt have his radio on the correct channel that afternoon; Said he was taking a detour that day. He also said had he known he would have just took another way. Like i said its no need for all this racist stuff in the comments, all of this was just wrong!

The psychological impact on the officers led to their heightened psychological and physiological responses due both their training and to stress and adrenaline. Psychologically, they felt intense focus, a sense of urgency, while biologically, their bodies underwent increased heart rate, blood pressure, and muscle tension. These reactions, while they prepared officers to respond quickly, also led to them overreact and to unremorsefully use excessive force instead of simply getting him to the ground and cuffing him. Those officers, who just stood by instead of interceding were just as guilty. In fact, in my opinion, they might even be a little bit more guilty as they had a greater level of self control yet did nothing. There was an incident at a nursing home nearby. An elderly gentleman in his 90s refused treatment for a urinary tract infection. He wanted staff to leave him alone. He became violent. Instead of just letting him calm down, fearing for their lives, the staff called police. Police came and became all pumped up on adrenaline. Instead of just listening to that dear old man whose own body was reacting to that urinary tract infection, which can sometimes make elderly people go a little crazy, and instead of leaving him alone for a time, that is as much time as necessary for him to calm down, they went in and killed the man. They used rubber bullets but fired at close range in that tiny little room of the rehab center- all because he didn’t want to take antibiotics and he didn’t want to go to the hospital, even if it meant he was going to die. That was his prerogative, but because he reacted violently, officers took him out. They were not charged with murder. Similarly because of their training in use of force, instead of training officers to simply subdue and provide containment, (or as in the case of the old man, to provide wisdom to back off and maybe bring in a counselor who would be more able to assist) officers, often, in tense situations fire their pistol (let’s say at someone with a knife who is self harming, a recent local incident) instead of using a taser or even rubber bullets when used at appropriate distances. If an officer is being attacked, and the other person has a gun aimed at the officer or at an innocent individual, unfortunately, officers in that situation have no choice. When excessive force is used as with Rodney King, and with others that have been brought to the forefront on media, it’s clear to see that something needs to change in how our police are trained to respond. It seems the judge in this case made a ruling based on how the law was written and not by what took place. Thank the Lord for civil court. However, this incident like so many others never should’ve happened!
