Warranty period apart, the ESAB is presumably a professional duty machine, whereas the AC is at best a superior hobby machine. That works for me but you should probably recognise that somewhere in your scoring scheme. Good review, though!
@flyweldfabricate10 күн бұрын
@@murrayedington I see your point. But from the esab and arccaptain site.. Esab from 15-40% duty cycle (depending on the process) Arccaptain 60% duty cycle. I’ll stand by my assessment although both machines are great to own. I’ll be happy with the esab after I give the arccaptain to my son to get him going on projects
@Precivilization16 күн бұрын
Nothing against you really, but this is a very uninformed comparison, in my opinion. The Arccaptin is cheaply built machine with generic components, copper cladded aluminum leads and stamp steal accessories and no Powe Factor Correction (PFC). Retorque intake. Rubber vacuum caps on front of holley carburetor base dry out and crack. Neoprene caps last for ever. Only three vacuum lines required. Prower brake booster to intake. PCV to back of holley base. Distributor vacuum advance to front holley metering block. Make sure your primary idle screw is no more than one turn in from fully closed. If it won't idle where you want it adjust the secondary idle screw. BEFORE TRYING TO FINE TUNE CARBURETOR. Change the curve in your distributor to at least 16° initial and 32° all in before 3000rpm. Nicely done. Uncle Tony is the place to go for any Mopar questions. Smart man. While you are re-doing the vacuum lines get yourself some new rubber caps for ports that are capped. The small block Mopars can be really bitchy about vacuum leaks, almost as bad as a Ford. Once the vacuum leaks are fixed it is much easier to dial in the tuning. Love the car. Brings back memories.

Isn't the ESAB power factor corrected?
@flyweldfabricateАй бұрын
@@BCole-bj4lv they both max out on amperage on 110 at pre determined levels if that’s what you’re asking
@BCole-bj4lvАй бұрын
@@flyweldfabricate No PFC means that there is capacitance inside the machine that keeps the current and voltage in peak alignment (no phase shift) when welding. This means it delivers the output amperage with a much lower input amperage. I know Miller, Fronius and ESAB offer machines with PFC which makes them very handy on 110 as you can get much more out of them without tripping a breaker. Or if welding from a generator, you can use a smaller generator. It also is a bit cheaper to run, as you use less electricity. I believe you can lower your bill by 20 to 25% with such a welder.
