When the philosophy presented doesn't match the image of the superhuman extreme shown, exampling just how much the modern mind still mytholigises and hyper-fantises over any ancient masculine wisdom. They weren't grindset mindset extremists, so why give the impression that they were?

Yea Its hard and I was the same way but once I said no to something that might've benefitted me at the time mainly cuz I didn't want to do it. I could tell the other party was disappointed and they tried to persuade me but I was adamant and refused. I think from that point onwards I didn't have any issue denying something I didn't want to do personally. There's a long video on this topic on the channel you can check it out, it might help.

In ancient time having a large penis was a sign that you were poor and stupid ,a clown almost, this is why these statues and sculptures of great thinkers all had small gentitals ,the smaller the package the greater the respect for him ..funny how thing change ..
I am most concerned about my reactions at times to life’s challenges. Simply put , acceptance of the world as it stands . No wishful thinking , projection of my expectations upon others etc.

I love Stoicism. The 4 truths are worth understanding the key to civilized life. He is speaking of an aspect of wisdom. The 4 truths are: wisdom justice, temperance, and courage.

One of my catch phrases i use often is "where there is adversity there is opprotunity." When a bunch of people at your work get laid off, there is a chance to move up. When you get knocked down your opponent drops his guard. You can always turn hardship into a boon if you are clever enough

That wasn’t Seneca. That quote was from a work called “closing time” by the group of philosophers known as “semisonic”.
@StoicE-Community-jx5ld2 ай бұрын
@@chriswaynegerlach Thank you for clarification. I thought it was attributed to Seneca or at least I recall reading something like that somewhere but regardless I think I should've done my research better. I'll still double check to make sure. That said the quote does represent the cyclical nature of beginning and end so it's quite fitting to be a Seneca quote.

No. It's true the Stoic does not seek revenge, instead he removes them from his life and thoughts. He does not think about them, but does not forgive or forget. That way lies madness and is the act of a fool. What he does is without drama or interaction, is remove that person from his life in every way possible and continues building his life.
@StoicE-Community-jx5ld2 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment and you're right that forgiveness doesn't exactly exist in stoicism. I used the word forgiveness mostly as a simplified term(Since you know you can't exactly elaborate better in a youtube short) to convey the idea of detachment and moving on from the terrible experience without any drama or hatred. Stoicism emphasizes on removing harmful influences from your life. Anyway the point is that you're letting go which can be seen as a kinda internal release and some might call it somewhat similar to forgiveness. That's sorta why I used it. Don't worry though, I elaborate these aspects much better in my long videos.
