It's pretty forgiving if for whatever reason it doesn't work out. Can always glue it in place and you didn't have to hack away at any fittings :) Good luck!

Started with a base of Rakarth Flesh (GW) and then did a few bits of various flesh and like pink oil heavy washes over it. Was really an experiment. I'll see if I can't recreate it and make a video :)

the tank is fantiastic, sa wit on a google search and just wow.. do you havea method on how u achjieved the look?
@silvernome2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! For this approach, it was just a black base and then layering up darker to lighter greens (ending with a fluorescent green to really make it pop). Then at the end, putting a gloss varnish over it to make it look like it's behind glass. I have another kit that I want to try to hollow out and fill with resin :)
@matt-rx6hi2 жыл бұрын
@@silvernome I honestly thought you had drilled it out and used resin to create that effect. Stellar work👍👍

yo sorry to bother you again, may i ask how you atach parts of models to sticks? im currently trying to do that but its not holding at all
@silvernome2 жыл бұрын
Depends on the mini or piece. I try to drill a small pilot hole with a pinvice and then I stick a toothpick inside. If I can't get a hole in, I just use some bluetac and stick it to a toothpick. Hope that helps.
@OmegaIdiot2 жыл бұрын
Damn i love that look, do you, by the chance got idea what vallejo air metalic would substitute for trash metal?
@silvernome2 жыл бұрын
I'm not quite sure to be honest. It does have more of a brownish tone to it (I picked it because it was something I had that was between Gunmetal (which is more like Ledbelcher) and Steel (which is really bright). So any mid-tone metal would work to help the transition between the darker and lighter metals.

this is really the scheme i want! somehow missed earlier the list of paints at the end. are they listed in order that you apply them? how does the imperial blue come into the equation, shading i presume? is primer black? and the pinks done with airbrush or old fashioned blending?
@silvernome3 жыл бұрын
Hey sorry I missed this comment, had to dig up my notes, but here's the order in how I did the scheme: Base Color: - Prime Black - Top-down with DR-FW White Ink - 3:1 VGA Alien Purple + Imperial Blue (bottom-up) - 1:1 VGA Alien Purple+ Warlord Purple (top-down) - VGA Warlord Pink - thinned - (top-down) - 1:1 thinned warlord pink + squid pink (top-down) - Badger Magenta ghost tint all over - Gloss Varnish I then used these for the highlights/trim later: - Warlord Pink - 1:1 Warlord Pink & Squid Pink Hope that helps!

Looks great! i was trying to figure out what size magnets to use for this guys shoulder and google brought me to one of your other videos. thought i'd check out this one since this is the mini i'm painting right now. only thing i'm not done on mine right now is the cloth and the shoulders. what's your recipe for the cloth? and waht colour did you base the shoulder pads in? cheers,
@silvernome3 жыл бұрын
For the shoulders, I do a base of Zandri Dust and then a highlight/drybrush of Ushabti Bone. Wash and then bring back up with Ushabti bone and a little Screaming Skull. The cloth I do a white and then thin washes of the Oxide effect paint form GW

The contrast paints are liquid enough you shouldn't have a problem with most airbrushes. I used an Iwata Eclipse and put it in straight, no diluting. Hope that helps.
