if it isn't staged then this happened because 2 veins loaded on the border of a chunk, I think the theoretical biggest vein possible is like in the millions, but no one has ever found something even close to that, good job, I think i've only found 2 veins merged like this once

so you found 2 different veins of diamonds, but they both were on the borders of the chunks so they stacked in a one vein. This is why I always mine on the borders of chunks.

@@Hugh-jass6 Yes, if 4 veins all spawn in corners of their respective chunk and connect with each other, its basically 4 veins (from diff chunks) that join together to form 1 vein IIRC the most u can get in a single vein is 10 diamonds, so theoretically it could even go up to 40
