Well software he's using is called euroscope it's the ATC (air traffic control) software for the vatsim network And vatsim (Virtual Air Traffic Simulation Network) is an online platform which allows people using msfs, xplane (there's another one but I forgot) to connect to the vatsim network and yeah do realistic ATC comms (like seen in this video) I know I fucked up the explanation

I absolutely love vatsim think it amazing but i think there should be slots for atc because In real life they don't just go off when they want to it make it bit unrealistic but other then that i think it amazing

Does real world Manchester see regular BAW speedbird callsigns or is it all SHT shuttle?

I think only regional BA operates in MAN to Heathrow, Which use the shuttle call sign. Only speedbird operates from Heathrow and some from Gatwick internationally. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

It is, but you'd have to run MSFS (or other FS) in the background, which isn't very practical...

Just did my first ever VATSIM flight after almost a 100 hours playing with offline atc and traffic. It is really very nervous on the first try, in fact after I redback my clearance I already want to disconnect. Now I'm really looking to fly more hours in VATSIM and enjoy it as much as possible. Thank you!

I’m Italian but I control in Germany and I find everything very well made there. As training timings there are quite long waiting lists for the S2 (to get the S1 it has been quite smooth for me). Anyways the Italian vacc has very messed up training programs and even if there’s no one it takes loads of waiting.

Hi, Im a 15 year old, I would love to fly on vatsim but i have a lisp which means some things i pronounce are not perfect. With past experience ive been bullied for it but i would like to give it a go. Please could i have some recommendations on quieter airports to fly to

Hi, VATSIM is a safe space. No-one on VATSIM will really care, or even bully you for having a lisp. In fact, it is quite common on the network, so don't worry. I don't fly in the US, but some medium-level airports for traffic in Europe would be: Manchester; Edinburgh; Keflavik; Bergen; Helsinki; Brussels; Stockholm; Milan; Split; Nice; The Canary Islands; and Lisbon. These are less busy airports but are usually staffed so you still get some experience in. Hope this helps!

No. You are reporting the SID not the route.

Quick question, i have a the airbus thrustmaster captain side stick thing, will the ptt on the stick work or does it have to be keyboard. I mustered up the courage to speak and pressed the button but i don’t think the controller heard me and was an open channel too, no traffic. Lastly i pressed file flight plan on vpilot and it took me to a vatsim prefile page and it’s not allowing me/i can’t find a place to write remarks, if possible please help.

The remarks section is at the bottom of the flight plan file page. The PTT should work on a sidestick

Awesome video! I tried my first Vatsim flight today and ended up getting kicked due to me being confused about the top down communication model. I was taking off from OKC and the nearest controller was Ft Worth Center which I neglected to contact to obtain clearance. Total noob mistake and I was super embarrassed once I had realized what happened. This video helped me better understand the requirements and how to operate on the network. Thanks!

I really hope that the upcoming MSFS2024 will (allow us to) combine career mode, atc, charts/plates combinable with vatsim in an unbroken VR experience. And plenty of tutorials on every aspect of aviation and navigation. So that I can go for vatsim communication.

Great video, thank you! Just some very little to add on Software (personal flavor, may be different to whoever reads it): To get Information on ATIS / Controllers I highly recommend VatSpy (also a downloadable Program like Volanta). Tons of possibilities to customize, to have exactly what you want to know at one glance and what I feel quicker on updating (online Controllers and new ATIS) than SimAware. What I mostly appreciate on Navigraph is - besides the standardized Jeppersen Charts - the moving maps feature for Taxiing, especially on Airports I'm not familiar with. Second Screen (or Tablet, etc.) of course recommended.
