Hey have you tried natural gate? If so how come you prefer ssf lpg
@youdefect15 күн бұрын
Hey, no I haven't tried the natural gate yet. I'd love to have one some day, but I opted for the SSF lpg since it's quite a bit cheaper and you get a lot of different flavors from it with the FOLD/SAT/QAOS switch.
@joeymc527214 күн бұрын
@@youdefect yeah I’m thinking about getting one because lot of people that I see that have natural gate tend to use their SSG more often so I wonder if that’s because there’s a lot more range with it? But I will say natural gate has the best sounding well natural LPG I have heard, especially for not having vactrols

What are you using for the synth voices? Sounds awesome

Thanks! I'm using Bastl Pizza for bass, Winter Modular Zaps for the bleep bloops, and SSF Ultra-Perc for those tonal perc sounds

@@youdefect Sounds great! What about the drums & Fx? DAW? Hardware?
@youdefect15 күн бұрын
Drums are sequenced with the T-1, but they all come from samples within Ableton. I'm using the knobs on the Faderfox to turn on effects and filters for the different modular channels, also within Ableton. It's a hybrid setup that works quite nicely, but let's see, maybe I'll try to do more in rack at some point

Very cool performance. I'm interesting how you use the Faderfox?
@youdefectАй бұрын
Thanks! Out of the 6 rows of knobs on the Faderfox, each row is mapped to a specific thing/channel. Three of the rows (one for each channel recorded from the modular) are mapped delay, reverb, distortion and a DJ filter within Ableton. Two rows change parameters for drums and drum sample selection. Bottom row is effects for the master channel to help with breakdowns and build-ups. It's a work in progress and I change the mappings quite regularly.

@@youdefect you very much for the detail information. So that's all Ableton if i understood you right?

Yes, drums and effects all come from Ableton.

Thanks! This is sort of a percussion and weird noise / feedback rack. I'm triggering drums from Ableton and using the knobs on the Faderfox for mixing and effects. Everything's sequenced by the Torso T-1. The rack is constantly evolving and I'm still figuring out how get more variation and smoother transitions, but that's part of the fun :)

That's the Torso T-1. An amazing euclidian sequencer with a ton of performance oriented features. The whole rack is sort of built around it

Nice jam. Also using a T1 to sequence my modular. What do you mean by "The whole rack is sort of built around it"?@@youdefect
@youdefect5 ай бұрын
Just that it's my main sequencer from where I mute channels, send triggers and sync etc. The varigate could do it to some extent, but I prefer to use it for stepped modulation. @@OlivierSarfati

I had it patched up to Zaps for some stepped modulation, but I think it doesn't actually do anything here
