Nope, not a dumb question at all! Always happy to answer. There is push button 4wd as an option which means you can either engage 4wd when needed or you can dis-engage 4wd and drive around in 2. These vehicles also come in Hi-lo ratio which can be engaged via a lever for 4wd lo, next to the handbrake.

So on the new Sambar they have moved the engine to the front? Why? That's one of the things that makes them better, at least in the older models. So basically a Hijet. The stance on the sambar was a little higher. Great video but too short needs more details like wheels, height, size of bed. Bless & safe driving Kei Truck Life. ATX ( Austin Texas USA)

Thanks for the feedback about the video, we are always looking for areas to improve on. Daihatsu, Subaru and Toyota are all manufactured in the same factory where as prior, each manufacturer and brand had there own operations for their specific vehicle hence why the Subaru is so similar to the Daihatsu Hijet.

@cornchips007 The max load these trucks can take is around 350kg. The newer models and especially the jumbo cabs feel as though you are in a modern car on the roads, with an off-road kit and quadtrucker tyres these trucks handle anything off-road aswell.
