"Allen" In the following weeks after the death of Timothy King, Dr. Bruce Danto, a Detroit psychiatrist who was working with the task force of the case at the time, received a poorly spelled and guilt-ridden letter from an anonymous writer only referred to as "Allen", who claimed to be the sadomasochist slave of his roommate 'Frank' who is believed to be the Oakland County Child Killer. "Allen" wrote a pleading, remorseful, and fearful letter about how he was losing his sanity, endangered, and developed suicidal thoughts, convincing Danto that the letter was genuine. According to "Allen", he had accompanied 'Frank' on many road trips seeking out boys, but claimed that he wasn't present during the abductions for the boys that 'Frank' murdered. He also confirmed that 'Frank' drove an AMC Gremlin, but he got rid of it in Ohio and it was never seen again. "Allen" also stated in the letter that 'Frank' was traumatized from the experience of killing children during the Vietnam War, in which he and "Allen" served, and was seeking revenge against more affluent citizens including the residents of Birmingham. He also wrote that 'Frank' wanted to see rich people suffer for sending forces to Vietnam and getting nothing in return. "Allen" had instructed Danto to respond to the letter by printing code words like "weather bureau says trees to blossom in three weeks" published in the Sunday's Free Press edition. Soon after, Dr. Danto received a phone call from "Allen" in which he offered to provide photographic evidence in exchange for a letter from William Milliken, the Governor of Michigan at the time, which guaranteed him immunity from being prosecuted. Danto arranged the meeting at a bar known as the 'Pony Cart Bar' which was near Detroit's Palmer Woods neighborhood. However, "Allen" never showed up at the venue and he was never seen again.

Not to been very often. I find this Crown's very nice, even when I was kid. In our village at that time, (end of the 60's, beginning 70's) there was one. A Toyota Crown Station Wagon. And I remember that I always marveled about this car. To put it clear, I was about ten years and had no special connections to cars. But, I found this Crown remarkable, something special. That was when I was kid, and had forgotten this car. But a time ago I remembered (without a special reason, it came back in my mind) and start looking for Crown's. YES this car was ahead of its time, when everybody drove a Beetle. And even Mercedes Benz simply had nothing to compere, they could not cope. So, I'm courious to know what's about this one? What have you done, or what are you doing with / to it? Please tell us!

My old man owned one back in the 60’s and early 70’s. It’s a fwd V4 motor with 4-speed. Very reliable and economical. Ours was a wagon and once we got 13 people, mostly adults and a couple kids, inside to go to the river. It was a longer ride to me than it should have been but the poor little wagon made it without fault. Some of my most cherished vacation memories were riding in that wagon. I hope to find a good one I can afford one day.

given to him bi guys that thought they had time after retirement. Or siblings selling or giving them off to him after their parents passes away. He restores one every 2 years with his son. People just don't have time for old cars to day.

I was the guest in your loft IN 19 - OUT 20 and without your post I would have missed this interesting museum. Unfortunately the Piper TF-CUB was not there any longer but the museum itself is worth the visit if you’re into aviation.

That is pure paradise, bro... Heaven on Earth... I can even smell them... Oil, fuel, dampness, electrics, all into one as the smell of home.... For the "negative" criticism, nope, don't be sad for seeing them standing there, they are in good hands, their 2nd, or 10th lives will come.. They're not forgotten in a locked up barn somewhere, they were collected with a purpose... Each one of them has it's own soul, it's a Land Rover thing, you will not understand...... Regards from Hermanus, the Land Rover Capital of South Africa.
