That sparring match took place six months before Bruce died for Bruce felt the only man capable of defeating him was William Cheung his older Wing Chun brother as Bruce had asked Sifu Wong if he thought he (Bruce) was capable of defeating William Cheung to which Sifu told him he cannot say Bruce died six months after the sparring session of which Sifu Wong said had I known Bruce was going to die I will have told him yes he was capable of defeating William Cheung for William Cheung is considered by most as the Grandmaster of Wing Chun by the passing of Grandmaster Yip Man while in Hong Kong Dr Leung Ting is considered the Grandmaster as GM Yip Man last and final disciple end of story

I really know in JEET KUNE DO : Shadow Kickboxing Good Form Broken Rhythm *Forms and kata are the answers* It's a waste of time and does not the match the actual ( Fighting ) situation Some people are tall , some are short , some are stout , some are slim , there are various kinds of people. If all of them learn the same boxing (etc. Martial Art ) form , then who does it fit ? *The highest state is no form* In application , must have no absolute form and to tackle pattern A with pattern B may not be absolutely correct Thinking that a correct pattern will achieve the same result in fighting as in practice ☸️🕉️☯️🥋🥊🦶🦵👊💪🏋️‍♂️🐉🐲

What if you practiced forms for a week, then practiced free throws for week, and so on? I'm definitely no expert myself: it sounds like Dan's approach is a way to get his students able to defend themselves.....a week early. Maybe because the student lives in a rough neighborhood, and doesn't have time for the fundamentals. Sounds like it's because the student's hood is so bad, that teaching him "forms" is not a luxury. Just a thought. If I wasn't in impending danger, Id wanna learn both. If in impending danger?....lets skip the theatrical forms. Example: if you pit a person who has one week of sparring under their belt, vs someone who has a week of forms, plus a week of sparring, something tells me the 2nd guy (the guy who has forms AND sparring under their belt) is going to fair better. Remember, wax on wax off? Or, Jackie Chan: "put down jacket. Pick up jacket. Hang up jacket." (both Karate Kid)? They didn't know why they were doing these movements until it was time to actually fight. Jaden Smith, looks at his hands during his first sparring seasion, after a month of "redundant" forms like, "aaaahhhh. This is why we've been doing these forms. Ive had "hands", all this time. It all just came naturally after that.
@joelpollardjkd
@joelpollardjkd 6 күн бұрын
Essentially if you have done the movement before, then yes you can do forms or kata or shadow boxing, because you have a physical reference point of doing the same maneuvers again an actual partner or in drills and or equipment. So yes you'd be fine. As long as you didn't have any experience and then you wanted to learn forms, it wouldn't work because you don't have a reference point for the techniques in the form. Hope this helped

It's amazing how the guys who knew him best say he was not a fighter. i.e. Joe Lewis "Bruce was not a fighter, he was a teacher". Chuck Norris "I was a professional fighter, Bruce wasn't" Gene Le Bell "I would bet my house n Chuck beating Bruce" Then we have Bob Wall who said that Bruce was afraid to fight as a loss would damage his image. (as a fighter). Dan Inosanto thought tht Benny the jet could have beatn Bruce in ring and was not sure who would win on the street. What's remarkable is that silly fanboys think he was an unbeatable fighting god based on anecdotal stories.
@johnjoyce1958

@stevo62ful The problem with all of those guys is none of them were street fighters where there were no rules. Bruce was a street fighter. He almost killed the son of one the triads in Hong Kong on a rooftop. That's why he had to leave Hong Kong and go to America. I never heard Don Insanato say he thought Benny The Jet would beat Bruce in the ring or out of it. It doesn't really matter who says what about him. He can't defend himself when he's dead. Every fighter can be beaten. I think Bruce understood this and that he wouldn't be young forever. Age and other things eventually catch up on you. That's why he trained so hard to maintain peak condition. Thanks for the reply!

Ryan O'Neal died last year or you wouldn't publish this BS video. O'Neal was not a real boxer. He had very few amateur matches. His record wasn't 18-4, he had far fewer fights than that. Joe Frazier had to take it very easy on him because Ryan weighed 165. It was a pitty-pat 2-round clown session, everyone knows that. This video is full of BS. Bruce Lee did not send Ryan O'Neal flying with a sidekick. He didn't do anything to him. They both punched air in a bit of clowning. This is another BS story about Bruce Lee contesting with a fighter that never happened. There's no video of Bruce Lee ever fighting anyone -- because he never did. There's a KZbin video of a 71-year-old O'Neal sparring someone named Lange in a total clown show. No amateur fight of O'Neal's was important enough to post anywhere.
