Always liked Allan Moffat bringing those great drivers over from Europe Peter Brock liked it and Allan he said was always responsible for raising the bar in Australia touring car racing if you didn’t get to know Allan or meet him I wish you did because you would have found out that he was a very interesting down to earth competitor talented driver a lot of good qualities glad to have met him and seeing him in action first time in the Mustang against Pete Geogan and Beachy Moffat like the way Pete drove a big car so he hired him in 73

I was a Holden guy back in the day, now I just love everything really, especially with the old cars. These Sierras were brilliant little cars. About the only thing that sucked about them was that you couldn't buy them here in Aus, that I know of. I reckon they'd be a very interesting car to have if you mated modern engine management to one.

I have a couple of these. Just bought another and wondered if anyone knows where I could get a name badge from? Most seem to have these missing. As a post script, the recent 252 that I bought is quite sluggish and nowhere near as responsive as the other I have. I’ve stripped it down and rebuilt it with new grease etc but no real difference. Any suggestions? Thanks.

JIM!!!! How are you, you old pirate! Man, it's been time......I really hope you're doing ok and still playing (May Contain Nuts?) Yep, still here, still twanging (one serious heart attack later...) and still got that bl**dy Strat!! Wendy and I treasure that last time we all got together at The Grand (!) and you had to put up with my drumming (well, I say drumming.....ha!) Sincerely Jim, so pleased you posted this (and For Real This Time It's, o'course!), brought back so many happy memories of our band. Bring back pyros, I say...in pubs, like the old days!! Besides, the video deserved at least one comment (ha!), but how many of those 307 views are you, me, Bob and Graham I wonder....(ha!) Would love to get in touch and catch up so I hope you see this and drop me a reply if you can. Brian. x

That was so much fun to watch. These cars look so basic, yet they are pretty hard to drive. The drivers really wrestle the car, going sideways all the time like a rally car, and quite frequently the inside rear wheel lifts under braking. The manual H-pattern shifting made it even harder too.

REAL Racing unlike todays!!!! 21m.30s Racing ( our camera ride ) does NOT get much better than that with Peter Brock BMW M3!! 91 or 92 was the last year of the turbos Ford and Nissans, the Ford Sierra by then was 600+++hp up to 650 in some cases the engines were capable of More DJ said but they could get the exhaust gases OUT quickly enough!!!!

Always been surprised why Graham Goode never won a race in a Sierra. Is it true his road car Rs500 was stolen with his race data & setup @an event which cost them dearly.

Very interesting this race because it is and was the only race here at Bathurst to have a rolling start instead of a grid start. I’m my opinion from 1987 to 1990 it was extremely europeanised

Thank you so much for the video! This is probably the only video on KZbin with such a detailed explanation! I have 2 pedals: one looks like the earliest (exactly like in this video); another - later years... I've been searching for any info how to disassemble Premier 252 pedals, but, most importantly, do it the right way. And now, thanks to you, I am going to take very good care of my pedals!!! Thanks again!
