I have seen this movie more times than I can recall. It always hits closer to home with each passing year (Catholic school alumnus 1953-1965). Those school nuns (Dominicans for me) were a unique treasure that I only realized decades later, when it was too late to thank them.

My friend, there is only one mediator between God and man, and that is Jesus. Pray to Jesus and to God the Father. They are the ones who hear and answer your prayers. Elizabeth is hopefully in heaven but she has no authority to answer your prayers.

The part of Zecheriah tearing off his garments after the vision is not right. The garments were holy to the LORD and God commanded the priests to NEVER tear them.

Well, he had a literal visit from one of God’s angels, so he’s a little frazzled. Also, he couldn’t speak, so he had to cause some sort of ruckus in order to get attention from the others.

Actually, the High Priest tore his clothes in Mark 14:63 when declaring that Jesus had perceptibly committed blasphemy in the previous verse. In this movie, you see two parts being unclipped and then clipped behind Zechariah's neck. It's that bond that was disconnected. We have no idea how Zechariah reacted emotionally - only that he was beckoning and was speechless and I would imagine frustrated because no one understood him. I would imagine he would have been exceedingly sorrowful.
