question: do i need a thunderbolt usb c cable to power on the unit? i purchased a used razer x on the internet. I turned the power switch on and it wouldnt work with regular usb c cable

@@thanhquangnguyen4247 basically you definitely need a thunderbolt cable to a turned-on computer to make the egpu start getting powered on. I sold my enclosure eventually, but I remember powering on the enclosure just made the power supply working (can be observed by power supply fan working) but egpu wouldn’t get powered (light on and fan working) until you connect to a computer successfully. Besides from that you can download thunderbolt egpu software to check if your computer can detect the guy correctly. If it detects it via thunderbolt, basically would work with proper configuration

same thing here, but keeps working foever now.. it did brick one of my powerbar multiway connector though... is there any solution to this? maybe a missing wire??

@@filipporicci9315 yes, I just suddenly found there have been lots of comments which I was not aware until today! I requested for repair and they did it serviced and the problem is gone

funnily enough mine does the same but is working fine - and yeah you should be fine to just swap out the egpu, definitely get a modular one so you dont have a ton of cables everywhere

@@benwilkins2781mine looks like one of the brackets is riveted so it can't be removed. Is that wrong? I have a ticket open since I'm within warranty so I haven't tried hard to take it out.

Hey can you make a front pad script that can process on lightpad commands like how the embodme erae touch works. If I have 4 block ms like you, can we make a front panel operated like the Erae touch? I do have 4 lightpad touch Ms and my goal is to have an Erae style UI experience. It might take 6 Lightpad Block Ms.

Hey! Currently waiting on a CR6 to be shipped, and strongly considering the Boomerang Strap. What kind of learning curve does it have? And when playing upright, how well does it match a typical cello playing angle?

I don't think it is possible to get the typical cello (or upright double bass) angle (or even close) with the Boomerang Strap! The strings will be too close to the body (so you will need some sort of additional padding / frames) and the instrument will be very easy to slide toward your right leg (thinking about putting the electric bass on your body with just the typical strap and without any other support, keeping in the center position like upright double bass and playing it at the same time..) I bought the Boomerang Strap with the explicit intension to play the NXT cello in the guitar-like stance and it basically fulfilled my need (though not ideally/perfectly) I would suggest you to consider their Frame Strap for closer experience to typical acoustic cello while keeping the instrument stick with you.

How do you like the baritone tuning on this guitarviol? I have been looking at the same model and have been back and forth on getting standard tuning vs baritone

Hey Casey, for myself i like baritone tuning very much since it covers the pitch range of cellos. It might depend on your actual context but for electric maybe you can start with standard (you can change to baritone if you want just by fixing the saddles) but for acoustic you might need to change the bridge for another tuning (not an epic work either imo). Dont hesitate and feel free to consult Jonathan!

Yes, it comes with the D'addario cello string designed for NS design cellos. But I think it was the Prelude strings when the video is recorded.
