I've always allowed my cuttings 24 hrs to callus after cutting. I'm fairly new to propagating, and I'm sure you're more experienced than me, but a longer callus time may help prevent the cut tip from rotting

I agree! In my experience, it also depends on the thickness of the stem. Ex: a vining philodendron vs a ficus plant. The thicker is it the more time is may take to callus over. You can also tell/feel if it's dry 🙂 thank you so much for watching 😁💚🌿

I absolutely love cleaning my plants leaves. Especially my alocasia metalhead. Her leaves are huge and theres so many its very meditative 🧘♀️ love seeing yours since I rarely see this alocasia in videos. I hope shes still thriving.

Thanks for sharing. Had few spares laying around so I decided to do the #2 as weather is getting colder, so a lot of plants have to go indoor. Took me the whole day to get it done. It turns out pretty nice thanks to you. It's one of those projects which got me inspired to get it done so fast. Now I will let someone decorate it. I used 3 2x12 pressed wood as shelves by reinforcing with 2x4 posts, a little bit different but rock solid and stable.

I just bought a regal shield that looks really sad. The store had it outside in September in zone 7b. They chopped one leaf, a second leaf is 2/3 torn off, third leaf looks faded, sad, and slightly wilted maybe, and the fourth leaf looks nice. I'm think of forcing dormancy and storing the "bulb" for the winter. Trying to get it to recover as we go into winter seems like a lot of work for me and the plant, and the plant might do much better waiting till spring.

Or you can mimic a small greenhouse by placing it in a clear container and have a grow light over top of it 🌿 Alocasia can survive all year round.
