Yo!! I appreciate all the videos and am currently doing my own AE86. I bought the Big Daddy Brakes and never saw anything about modifying the lower control arm until I ran into that problem during install and researched and saw your video. They say never cut your LCA but I was wondering if you've had any issues or if you had to do it over, is there an alternative? Thanks my man and hope to hear from you. Jay.
@turbotoyzrus628612 күн бұрын
Thank you very much for your comment and support.🙏🏾 Hope you already subscribed and will continue to share my content. Happy to hear you found my video helpful and informative pertaining to your project. Yes I had cut the LCA a little as I illustrated to provide necessary clearance and avoid the interference with brakes and turning. I was sure to include that bit of detail because I didn’t find it in any prior videos either. I still have the same LCAs on the car that I modified in the video, I didn’t have to change or redo them. The only alternative I am aware of to cutting your oem LCA, is to obtain a set of the tubular GTX2 style LCA from Technotoytuning. I wish T3 would also fabricate their double adjustable steel LCA which uses oem style ball joints, to be compatible with their Big Brake Kits. The key in my opinion to making the modification of your oem LCA work safely is to not over cut as to infringe on strength, stability and integrity of the LCA; but please do your research and be safe. The Big Brake kits from T3 is an absolutely amazing upgrade compared to the oem equipment.👍🏾

That build is so nice... I got a '94 2RZ sohc 8-port super custom van that I want to do something similar with. Hi-flow, lo-boost. Remove A/C and have passive peltier module/solar running the A-C from the roof. Remove factory A/C condenser & put the intercooler & air intake right at the front, make an s-duct splitter low down to chill that big turbo sitting right under my ass 😂

Hey man What price does it cost to swap to 2RZ on my 86? Likewise, due to the relationship between price, management and profitability, how viable do you see doing this swap in another AE86?
@turbotoyzrus6286Ай бұрын
Thank you for your support and comment/question?🙏🏾. One of the foremost points of doing a major engine swap like my 2RZ turbo setup is to understand that the greatest value you will achieve is a sentimental one. If done efficiently and effectively, you will be rewarded with pure amazement and satisfaction; considering you’re a boost lover like myself🔥 👍🏾. For me I can’t go back to a stock setup on my antique legendary ae86; the joy is incomparable. So with that said; it’s going to cost exactly everything you have. 😂 It’s not profitable, because most people don’t understand all it takes to do a reliable, powerful swap and are always going to try lowballing the time, energy and money involved in the extensive fabrications required. The cross member/ subframe must be modified to accommodate the larger 2.4L; you can purchase ready made mounting brackets for engine and transmission online, the intake and exhaust manifolds are custom made and are available online as well; oil pan is modified for turbo drain; the engine is taller so spacers are required to lower subframe on which I did a video presentation here on my KZbin channel; drive shaft and bigger rear end must be customized; entire fuel system is customized for double external fuel pumps and large capacity single fuel rail and 4 massive flow injectors & of course electrical wiring is a major consideration for stand alone ECU. If you are knowledgeable and able to do some of these fabrications yourself, the price is cut significantly. Also, I hope to be a provider for the new 6466 ball bearing turbo brand I am currently using in the future; which is just one of the major aftermarket components required. It’s a bunch but don’t be discouraged; the final product is a stunning work of art in engineering. I still intend to make a build info part 2 to go more in-depth on this very question; so please look out for that video in the future. Thanks for your support🙏🏾

I know some people in the street are morons. I've been one a couple of times as well. Do not count on luck or coincidence, ok? Thankfully it was your bumper, otherwise you could've ended worse, like Naruse. And judging by the damage, nothing closer to the suspension or steering, which means that you can get back driving with minor fix for a while. If you can measure the same distance between the center of the wheel hub to the door, then nothing much serious happened to the rest of the monocoque or steering rack.

My turbo coolant hose on my 2016 cls550 keeps bursting. You think this could help ?
@turbotoyzrus62862 ай бұрын
It’s tricky to diagnose a problem that I can’t analyze. It’s possible this could be the solution, but it’s also possible your issue may be due to other circumstances. I suggest that you get a good mechanic to give you a diagnosis or second opinion and then you’ll approach solving with the most knowledge. This particular problem I solved though is unfortunately too common on Mercedes.

Nice build. Want to do a subtle build on my Tacoma truck. How is the reliability? Thanks in advance
@turbotoyzrus62862 ай бұрын
Thanks for your support and comment. Hope you subscribed, liked and shared🙏🏾. Modified cars usually have kinks that need to be ironed out gradually and then you have the failure of performance parts from time to time. With that in mind, the reliability of my build is pretty impressive; but one of the main elements to achieve this result is proper tuning and sourcing the right components to ensure stress factors never exceed limitations. 471 hp is pretty nice in such a light chassis. My 2RZ turbo experience is extremely satisfactory.

So i had a similar issue of a coolant leak on my CLS. Just a bit of advice perfoming this service yourself; replace both sides of the actual hoses and just go ahead and replace the actual control valve that the hoses plug into. If anyone needs part number i can post them, dont have them with me right now but it was a pretty simple job. Definitely not worth paying Mercedes-Benz or any other shop $1600 when the parts are less than $200

@turbotoyzrus62864 ай бұрын
What’s up brother, the AC lines are custom welded to fit the 2RZ ac compressor factory line ends. The condenser is a small Honda unit. So some fabrication work was required for this setup. A great aluminum welder with fabrication experience will make it work.👍🏾 I will include some information and video in a build info part 2 video.
