How many layers of stains did you use to get the color in 4:20?

@@chesterchan2612 thanks for the question. My daughter liked the color of four coats of stain with 2 coats of clear satin urethane, so that's what I did. I must say, after some time, the wood did get a bit darker. I would probably just do 2 coats if I desired a lighter color like @ 4:20.

@@saulkravitz I want to say fixed fins are glued on, but there maybe some manufacturers that have molded fins? Review the video starting at 2:08. I talk about identifying the types of materials, hypalon and pvc, for your iSUP. Then you can get the correct adhesive for your iSUP. Hope that helps!

Does it work with a rubber hose
@doitstepbystep3376
@doitstepbystep3376 7 ай бұрын
Unless your rubber hose is reinforced, I think it would be difficult to use this technique on a rubber hose. The vinyl hose I used was reinforced and ridge enough to not flop over when I started to push the fitting into it.

Hi! I found your video because I'm attempting to make a hexagonal trellis very much like this. Can I use these same joints with 4x4s?
@doitstepbystep3376
@doitstepbystep3376 8 ай бұрын
I think it is possible with the right tools and skills. The difficult part, at least for me, would be getting a deep enough cut with the saw(s). My circular saw, and jigsaw would not be able to handle nearly 4" deep cut. A hand saw could do it, but require skill and patiences to get "square" cuts. Good luck with your project!!

Pretty cool idea. However, could you just use a hair dryer to soften up the rubber hose and skip the microwave, cup&water?
@doitstepbystep3376
@doitstepbystep3376 Жыл бұрын
Hi. You can use a hair dryer if you want too. I dipped the hose in hot water to evenly heat up the material so not to risk uneven heating or over heating. One commenter noted that there could be mold or mildew on the fitting if you use the method in the video. My fitting is still working great, with no mold or mildew issues.

I'm about to try something similar to this. I'll be slipping 5/8 id nylon vinyl tubing over an 11/16 pipe. For the plumbers reading this, yes I said 11/16 pipe. Apparently my house was one of the lucky ones to get 11/16 pipe made by a company called Westinghouse. It was made in the 80's and 90's, but discontinued. Now it's obsolete so no one makes fittings for it.

Actually by first securing each piece of lumber by not tightening the screws allows each piece of lumber to properly aligned itself with the lumber on either side. This saves time by not having to loosen the screws to realigned lumber that had been tightly secured without the other pieces of lumber on each side.
