Just like my Skyriter, 'cept I can't sell it for sentimental reasons.

Yeah, those people who say, "If you love something, set it free -" have never formed a meaningful bond with a Skyriter.

Love vintage typewriters. Own around 18 of them. Majority are Smith-Coronas from the 40’s to mid 60’s. Own a 1959 Olympia SM4 in Hunter green. All of my typewriters look and work like new. Only like manual. I own one 1980 Selective Electric. Had that one brand new when purchased in 1980. I love typing and don’t do any social media. Been typing since I was 16 when I took typing classes in high school and have been typing ever since. Each day I type and use a different typewriter to keep them working properly. I will be 74 this august and to this day still type and just as fast as I was in my 20’s. Today people will go through many computers but the typewriters I own went through many people and they never crash!

LOL I enjoy your wry sense of humor. Thanks for the glimpse at this machine. I've been trying to decide on whether it's worth getting one, since they're not near as widely renowned as the Lettera 22 and 32, and even the DL, etc. I was repelled by the plastic body, but you make some compelling arguments.

Thanks! Definitely not for everyone. I'm seriously considering taking one to a typing event at the end of the month since they're so portable. I kept a few color & name variations of this model and intend to do videos on them as well. Try grabbing one while they're still relatively cheap before the rest of the world catches on.

I'm not sure how to communicate this, as it apparently makes youtube unhappy. There's a popular website for 3d printable designs that I'm apparently not allowed to name or my comments get auto deleted. It's basically the most popular one for free 3d printed designs. The logo is blue with a white circled 'T'. If you go there and search "Olympia SG3" you'll find a replacement SG1/3 paper holder I designed to essentially the exact dimensions of the original. You need a small piece of felt to stick inside the mechanism, and a 3d printer of course... but if you have all those things it's there for you. Edit: Golly, looks like this was allowed. Thank you daddy youtube for letting me help the fellow typewriter enthusiast, even if I had to do it with riddles!

Looking forward to an update. I just got a very similar SG3 in very similar condition. Mine has a '1' key but color scheme is the same, and also included paper support. Was bundled with a somewhat broken down 60s Hermes Ambassador for CAD $50

Thank you. I plan on documenting the entire clean-up once the weather permits. Even though I've had both SG1s and other SG3s, I'm impressed how well this one types in its current condition. So far I've only cleaned up the exterior, taking particular care to depopulate the panda population first.

It is an excellent typewriter. I have one and it works perfectly, once you put the typewriter into operation it has no problems. The more you use it, the better it works.

If I had more space in my house I would buy another one. Mine doesn't have the paper injector. Do you upload your typewriters to typewriterdatabase? I uploaded my two sg3, you can see them there. My username is Herik Beheran.

When I listed this on Marketplace a couple weeks back, I was concerned someone would buy it strictly for display. Fortunately it went home with a collector who traveled a considerable distance, who keeps a small battalion of portables and standards in daily rotation.
