I have a chance to purchase an A5 Browning, Serial # B38249. This number is on the side of the receiver and just above it, it says Browning trade mark with a man’s head looking left. Please confirm what this shot gun is and year if you can. I’m so confused because it doesn’t show up on your video . Please help . Steve

Don’t forget to toss in a little magic because those SxS’s are pretty easy to get to not shoot together! Pattern testing both barrels can be pretty awful even on some of the nice ones! 👍🏼

Do you resolder everything with silver solder or soft solder? And if you use soft solder, what do you reblue it with?

Is there a difference between soft solder and silver solder? If there is a difference, will silver solder be damaged by salt bluing?
@CandidZulu8 күн бұрын
Amazed people don't know this! The red tint shows up on guns whit high Chromium content when hot salt bluing.

Over the years, Browning has screwed over many customers. But, it's made a good living for folks like yourself fixing that Browning junk.
@codytaylor21948 күн бұрын
Not saying browning hasn't had its share of mishaps..but they are the furthest thing from junk...brownings are some of the best rifles and shotguns ever made...I hunted with brownings for over 30 yrs ..I have 7 now but over the years ive had over 15 diferent types of original a bolts and xbolts have never seen one I couldn't get to shoot sub moa ..we have 2 a5 shottys that get cases ran threw em each year for dove and buckshot and have for 40 plus years..yes I'm partial to browning but I also know what works and I hunt harder and more than most...colorado..idaho..alaska will throw some wicked shit at you and everytime I've had a browning on those trips and never a hicup..but I guess there not for everyone 🤷
@jerryreynolds81518 күн бұрын
@codytaylor2194 yes, I was a little critical calling them junk. The design and craftsmanship of many firearms were overshadowed by issues with salt because Browning wanted shortcuts. My personal experience is with Japanese made Browning arms, and it hasn't been great. God Bless America 🇺🇸, vote wisely this November 🙏 .

Thanks for the video!! I could have used several of you tips when redoing my Remington 24 short. It appears identical except cartridge stop is different. The stop is small rounded pin backed with spring set in the side of the receiver. I believe it's the older version of this model. Will your kit be a replacement for all the parts? Thanks again.

I don't think it's a fair comparison bashing another restoration job. No one knows the condition of the shotgun before the restoration or how many times if any it's been tried. Nobody knows what the customer asked for in the restoration agreement. Maybe the restoration quote was for just polish, sand and refinish what's there. No information on preserving checkering, rollmarks, recut checkering, rebuild missing wood, cracks etc.. the customer may have just said make it look better by sanding the rust off and refish the stock for $400, instead of thevl $1599 restoration build it needed.....

Thank you SOOO much for this really informative video. I have a small collection of these Auto-22s, which I think are fabulous little rifles. Every little boy in Belgium got one for Christmas or a birthday, back in the good old days... Alas,some of these little gems are getting old now, and need some care and replacement parts, especially those easy-to-lose springs and detents for the barrel latches. I will definitely be in touch about parts kits! Thank you so much, and please keep on making these great videos. Greetings from Belgium.

I own about every gauge but the 20_ infect 2 in 28 ga. Which is my.favorite small bore to hunt small game. They shoot light but hit like a 12ga. Imp mod and modified My grand pops sportsman.kicks like a muie. It has always kicked hard from new.12ga. 30" full pop put a rubber butt pad ,, didn't help.guess it needs the springs. N rings.one question why did they make the 1100 in 410 that weighs more then my 1100 12 GA trap.
