Just remembered the hillarious debate on this video and thought id look back through it for old times.... thought I'd update you guys on how we're getting on.... Several years down the line, still "acting the shit", still in one piece... No one hurt! Who'd have thought it?! We must just be super lucky though.... By the way mike still breaks glass on his head for fun,!!! ;)

Before I made this comment I commented on the 'glass' (ice!!!) and the fact that you weren't jumping into recirc, but for some reason it didn't take. I don't see much wrong with what you're up to.

It looked like glass. Im not from texas. I was actually defending you against what liquidtexas was saying but hey seems like whatvever I say people get annoyed. Im not from texas Im from Ireland. The reason I watched your vid is becasue my club is goin to scotland in april. I ve nothing againsts you. My issue was with a person who left a commet against you. Sorry for defending you.

Fair point :P

No, it's not the safest stuff in the world as Mike says( that is after all what makes kayaking fun right?), but neither would I say it was particularly dangerous either. The pools were all deep, the 'glass' was ice and apart from an admitedly silly paddle spin off one fall no one came close to harm all week. Liquidtexas,... didn' yo mamma ever tell you... if you can' say nothin' nice, don' say nuttin' at all! :P
@ntilley198815 жыл бұрын
Braking glass on yer head? I mean come on? Not the safest of things. Apart from that nothing really. We jump into stoppers all the time too. In fact we encourage it cos ya have to feel what its like to get rotated so when it does happen ya know what to expect. That liquidtexas fella was taliking through his hole and I didnt like it.. Sorry if it annoyed ya by taking up a lot of space on yer page or if you took offence. Apologies.

@bradleynorth1 Work on my social skills? Ironic as you've insulted me twice and I ve said nothing to you. Thats besides the point. I gave my reasons for saying what I said. I m well aware of the phraseology used. I admitted I misinterpreted what was said. As for fragile psche? Kayaking is the one thing in life Im incredibly passionate about. The other thing Im passionate about is respect. And to differentiate between sports people on the basis of pro or amatuer is wrong.
@ntilley198815 жыл бұрын
@liquidtexas Again you bring up the amatuer kayaker thing? "then you will forever be an amatuer kayaker" for taking critiscm personally. I ve already explained why..... For the record I wouldnt paddle with these guys either. We had guys like these in our club. Not alot of skills, too much balls. Got rid of them as they are a huge liability. Pro or not you obviously have a huge passion for the sport. And I respect that. Just please dont differentiate between "pros" and "amatuers". Peace.
@ntilley198815 жыл бұрын
@liquidtexas why then differentiate between amatuer and pro? What difference does it make? I told you to fuck off as your comment offended me as Im only an "amatuer" too. Admittedly these guys are acting the shit and willl probably get hurt. But to differentiate paddlers on the basis that they are pro or amatuer is arrogance on a level I dont like. This is about kayaking, not my (or yours for that matter) social skills or reading ability.
@ntilley198815 жыл бұрын
@bradleynorth1 As I said my issue was with liquidtexas making remarks about amatuer kayakers. I took that personally because Im an "amatuer" kayaker. Yes these lads are taking serious risks. I will not doubt that. But to say that you will drown if you paddle with "amatuer" kayakers is outrageous. Does this mean that because Tyler Bradt and Co are pro kayakers they can jump into stoppers? My issue isnt with that these guys do, its with liquidtexas arrogant approach as he is a "pro".
@ntilley198815 жыл бұрын
@liquidtexas Proof that Im a kayaker? Check out my video. Im the one with the blue rocker bout 30 seconds in. I ve paddled rivers grade 1 to grade 4. Enjoyed them all. Cant say I ve done grade 5.... but hopefully soon. What really annoys me about you is the fact that you used the word amatuer as if its demeaning or that "amatuer" kayakers are in some way inferior people. Im a weekend kayaker becasue during the week I m in college. Wish I could paddle all week like you... the "pro" kayaker.
@ntilley198815 жыл бұрын
@liquidtexas Then its even more shambolic that you made this statement. If you paddled class 4 and 5 rivers all over the world, you probably had to start out as an amatuer. Why diss the people who are involved in a sport you supposedly are very involved in? Noone starts out as a pro kayaker. In fact they are a rare thing. Wheres the proof you've paddled these rivers? Amatuer or not, every kayaker, knows that safety is paramount. Just becasue you are a "pro" doesnt make you immune.
@ntilley198815 жыл бұрын
@liquidtexas Are you a professional kayaker? Kayaking with "amatuers" doesnt mean that you will drown. What an idiotic statement. As an amatuer kayaker, and I think this goes for all other kayakers, we pride ourselves in the safe and coordinated manner in which we undertake these kind of trips. Unless you've got some kayaking experience paddling grade 4+ rivers to go against this, would you kindly keep your opinions to yourself. Better still just fuck off.
