The heavy attack is an actual thing! I think it's called a half hold or a reverse hold or something like that basically blades are good for flesh and leather armor and such but useless against plate armor so you grab your sword by the blade and smash the armor with the pommel of your sword and bam! You have effectively a mace instead of a sword! Pretty neat

But holding the blade of your sword would cut your hands pretty bad, no?😭

@SyncheYT No, it wouldn't. Blades in order to actually cut need to be slid on a surface. You can easily test it on some food, for example. Try cutting through a steak, cutlet, or any meat for that matter, only by pressing the sharp edge against it. It's not that easy and usually takes more force. Mind you, it's not like it's 100% safe, but if you are wearing some form of protection, like anyone in a scenario like this would, the chance of anything happening to you is very abysmal. You can even find clips of people doing it on KZbin if you are curious.

@hyck. That makes perfect sense, but i was thinking more of a combat scenario, where swinging the blade and hitting something or getting blocked would move the sword resulting in your hands getting cut

I did this in my first playthrough albeit I installed a dead thrall mod, most of the time when I was doing DB questlines I liked to just murder a random guy or guard and reanimate them before making them kill the target. It made it feel more immersive in my opinion since technically I didn't do it.
