Definitely nice places but most are not really hidden gems and still get quite crowded. And since they are smaller there is also less space to accommodate larger crowds like big cities. Don’t let it stop you, but peace and quiet is not what you’ll find. Enjoy!

Most of what we're told about the persecution of Christians was a self-serving lie. Some of the emperors killed Christians, but rarely en masse, and mainly for the crime of refusing to worship traditional gods and thus spreading division in society.
