It's a slightly complex question. The point is that dividends from an MF come from the cash held in the fund and are independent of the dividends from the stocks and therefore not guaranteed. Therefore you cannot predict when and how much dividends will come since the cash balance will be unpredictably affected by the inflows and outflows into the fund. Hope this helps.
