Why keep covering your handsome face with a gigantic mic? The audio tends to weaken almost inaudible then suddenly shouts at you when your mouth is smack at the mic.

The photo where you said you have a light leak may not be a light leak. It looks more like the film is not advancing properly and giving partial double exposures. Great photos and nice video, though.

Great video! I picked one up from a garage sale, I found out there is dust inside the lens, do you know how I can clean it?
@caffreycameronАй бұрын
Thank you very much! We're also experiencing this issue with old point and shoot cameras. My best bet would be to disassemble the camera as carefully as possible, use a blower and use a lens cleaning cloth or microfiber cloth with a bit of lens cleaning solution to clean all the dust away. Then reassemble :)

Get yourself the appropriate film stock and get into Edinburgh's Old Town at night, it's stunning Mate. Another month or two and it'll be dark just after dinner time. You have moved to a beautiful, diverse wee country, compositions to be shot everywhere you look!

Definitely on the bucket list! Old town is such a picturesque place! I’ll also be sure to shoot a video in the countryside in the near future. I’m incredibly proud to be living in Scotland 🏴❤️

The Summicron-C 40mm 2.0 for the Leica CL was designed about 10 years later than this 40mm f1.8. It is a different lens even if it could share the same basic optical design. There are tweaks, choice of specific quality glass for certain elements, coating technology, internal baffling to cut reflections, etc. that will undoubtedly distinguish the two lenses. Sorry to wake you up when you were having a nice dream !

Keep pumping out these shorts, your channel will grow! Be consistant also. KZbin seems to push short format videos. My most viewed video is a short clip of 2 fairground rides at night! 😮😳😁 It took zero effort and goodness knows why that one specifically gained so much traction? 😊 Normally I'm lucky if I get a couple of hundred views from my long format drone/tech or photography videos. I put way much more effort and time into those ones!

That is a beauty! They don't make them like that anymore! I like the red shutter button and strap, they really lift the whole look. I was shooting my Olympus Pen ee today and the build quality and engineering just astounds me compared to the plastic fantastic rubbish film cameras that are churned out today!😊 I wonder how many plastic 2024 cameras will still be operational in 60 years time? 🤔
@caffreycameron4 ай бұрын
Thank you very much!! It’s great to connect with others that admire the beauty of cameras! So so true…This Minolta is built like a tank and is incredibly heavy. I can’t hep but respect the craftsmanship. I just hope we go back to making great quality film cameras, and this plastic wave phases out soon.
@pdtech45244 ай бұрын
@@caffreycameron A couple of new quality film cameras to look out for. The Rollei 35AF heavily inspired by the very popular 1960s Rollei 35 range of cameras. Also Ricoh imaging, under the Pentax brand are developing a new half frame camera after the popularity of the Kodak Ektar H35 cameras. It seems to be inspired by the quirky 1960s styled half frame cameras that were very popular in Japan. Hopefully more manufacturers will follow...

The Brownie cameras from Kodak have a long history in America, as from the 1890s, they brought film photography to the average person. Most Brownie cameras in the USA used 620 film, which is the same as 120, but with a thinner spool. The Cresta series was the only plastic (technically Bakelite) Brownie cameras from the 1950s to use 120 film, and were not exported to the USA, so it’s a special camera! Hold it steady with iso 50, 100, 125 or 200 film, and you’ll get great pics from it! The yellow filter is for b&w film, fyi. Good luck in your new location and keep up the great work! Cheers from USA 🇺🇸!

I found your video after I found one of these in excellent-looking condition on eBay and wanted to check user experiences. I actually find a few interesting options but this model was the only one with a review anywhere online, so thanks! So I bought it ($13 shipped!) and yep, dust under the window that's not removable. It's more irritating than I expected, lol. Mine also came with extreme corrosion and rust in the battery compartment but I was able to clean it. It really looks brand new despite the dust and corrosion which is unbelievable. I took photos but did not develop them yet. Have you seen the FZ-6? It looks very interesting. Two lenses, an ISO switch that controls aperture, fancy stuff.

Hello . Really good review. 👍 The Minolta uniomat is a fantastic and reliable street photography film camera . I have the first and secont version and completely refurbished them myself . They are the same in specifications and the first version is a little better in build quality in my experience . In practical use the First one is far better because of depth of field scale that disappeared on the second and third version. Good luck 🤞. Mohammad

I bought minolta ALS(fully refurbished) back in june 2023, its an extremely underrated and hard to find, i spent about 250$ on it, fully mechanical it is just perfect. P.S: difference between minoltina and minolta is one has selenium meter using solar, the other one is battery operated. Overall it is perfect for street photography, and with the aperture, it is suitable for portrait photography as well.

The Fx-3 has a Electro- magnetic shutter. If the magnets become "dirty", the shutter will lock up. This is a problem with all cameras with magnetic shutters, like the Canon AE-1, especially if they haven't been used for a decade or two. The solution is, often, to clean the magnets with isopropyl alhohol on a Q-tip. You will have to trigger the stuck shutter manually, to free it, but then it will often work again. Yes, a stuck shutter will often lock up the film-advance lever.. NEVER try to brute-force, the camera needs a bit of TLC.
