Comparing the input of both, I'd say that the Lady is the Captain here and the Gentleman ? Bloody useless !

The boat is beautiful….could do without the music though
@pwat30912 ай бұрын
Hi Leon. Sorry you're not keen on the music. Some folk say (verbally) they like it. Turn it down? Ah well, if you really a Sunfish lover it gives you some credibility! :-)>

Why did it catch on fire, was it the wax
@pwat30912 жыл бұрын
Wax is suggested by some sources as a “flux” to help clear the slag (oxides and other impurities). It was only the wax which was burning. It was easy to extinguish by covering the pan. BTW, I was wearing two pairs of leather gloves and multiple layers of non-plastic clothing.

Lovely build of a braugh design. Thanks for inspiring dreams of a future retiree!

Thank you, S Keating; excellent design indeed, just don't look too closely at the build! Anyway, she sails well and recently won two prizes at Falmouth Classics, much to our surprise! Let us know when you start building. Plenty of helpful contributors on our forum.

I followed her story in Watercraft; lovely little boat! It's great to see other people realising that there is nothing so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats!

@@pwat3091 It’s an Oughtred designed Whilly Boat (the predecessor to the Whilly Tern). Based on Shetland working boats. She was never meant to carry a gaff sloop rig, but I’m in the process of rerigging her with a balanced lug sail - far closer to the dipping lugs of the Shetland boats!

Ah, so here you are! Good to see the boat I'd heard about, and she's even prettier than I imagined. Looking forward to when we can see it, and you of course, and to hearing about the build. Best wishes.

What a fine achievement to build this handy little craft during Lock-down! Congratulations and thanks to Paul and Robin for choosing a piece of Three Pressed Men's music. We're still practicing in hope of being allowed back on stage.
