I'm with him on Tom Bombadil. Did he just stroll in from some random tale? But also, I love the weird characters on the fringes. I love that neverwhere was basically a book about weird characters that live on the fringes of society, within view for all to see but yet none ever notice.

I am so disappointed this was written as a novel. I want the true and accurate story. I don’t want novels about something as important as the Holocaust and I won’t be reading her book.

Thank you. My Catholic Polish family came to the USA in 1862. The family retained the language. When WW2 started (but before USA joined the fighting against Germany) one of my uncles went go Canada to join the British forces against Hitler. Another uncle volunteered to fight with the Polish underground. He had no ID, wore old European clothing, and was secretly flown to Poland. If he were caught by the germans, a death sentence awaited. Somehow they both came home safely. My father had served in WW1 and was too old to rejoin the army.

I was a resident of Carrollton subdivision in Bridgeton from birth. Was born in 1961 and spent my youth there. My father was employed at Lambert airport from 1958 till 1983 by TWA. As a kid would ride my bike to Westlake Landfill with friends looking for various stuff. Driving on St. Charles Rock Road towards the Missouri river you could smell the stench from the landfill. Carrollton is long gone due to the runway that was built by St. Louis City. I moved to Colorado in 2000 and my family home in Carrollton was taken in 2002 after my Mother passed. I still wonder if that outcome was a result of the Airport, the City Government, and all of that toxic radioactive waste from the Manhattan project. Amazon made a good entertaining movie called Manhattan about Los Álamos where it all actually happened. Carrollton was a beautiful place to grow up and I have many good memories from my youth.

I just finished watching the 8 part series of this story on Hulu. I felt like I was drawn into the story as if I were there, holding my breath at every turn. I didn't even know there was a book. However I will be purchasing it soon. This is definitely a most see.
