Thanks, I like your video! Here's a youtube video I want to share with you and everyone! The title is : Continuous Electric Display (CED) In this video, I will do a short demonstration of a new analog display technology, made with static electricity. It is a technique that uses the Jacob's Ladder effect. Also, here's a link to the video: I have split (youtu) from (.be/Rr6yPg_Vs-M?si=c-Uch5Ndoz4e_z5C&t=24) because the algorithm does not allow links. I subscribed your channel! 🙂

@@CKHaun I am glad I got one! Thonk has only two left in stock now. I think I should get another, lol. I am so excited to hear it! I have 4 other not Serge kits I am going to assemble before I unwrap the Serge kit. Those are my practice kits I suppose. I want to brush up on my soldering skill/knowledge before going full hog on the VCFS. It was more than double the cost of the other modules. I am very hopeful that my kit also has the SMT alternative diodes that came with your kit. I can do decent THT but no SMT skills are in me at all. Not even a little.

@@CKHaun I own a different colored gikfun smt kit but I cannot understand how I can solder things that are so small that a single drop of solder would bridge 10-12 pin connections with ease. Maybe my tools are wrong but no soldering tip sold on the civilian market is even remotely small enough to solder one of the items that came included in my gikfun kit. not to mention that soldering wire itself can hold two of the little chips or diodes on the tip, like the tip of a pin sort of tip. The actual soldering wire is several times larger than what I am supposed to soldering. The things included that I am supposed to solder are small enough to sit inside of a typed letter o and not touch the letter. So after looking for about a year for the tool that could do the job, I just stopped looking. It's just not possible to find soldering tips that can produce a drop that is small enough, on the open market, or in that year I'd have found one. Perhaps defense contractors or the folks at the National Research Labs around the country have access to specialized gear but all I can find is an iron. And compared to the center of a typed letter o, irons and their tips are well past massive. Every tip is way way way too big to come close to touching only one, and not 6-8 pins simultaneously. I think at best all I will ever be able to manage is THT.

Thankyou for the video. 👍I built this one yesterday and was trying to calibrate it today. Had much the same experience. I wasn't sure what the objective was with calibration of the self-oscillation LOW FREQ but your video helped me a bit. I also had the same issue with the 10nF capacitor not fitting (17:55). I was forced to solder it to the underside of the board. My kit was missing the 300k resistor, so I put in the lowest value 330k I had (317k) (the 300k is not even in the BOM document!) I also had some extra resistors and figured they were spares too 🙂
