Pul the manifold off. Yo will see the intake valves. It cold becarbon buildup on the valves which are visible through the intake runner. Also a difference of 10% compression between cylinders on an older engine is typical.

I had difficulty putting the hose back on. Apply a little silicone grease to the inside of both ends. Heat the hose with a hair dryer. Put the hose on the filter box first. Use a frosting spatula to hold the bottom of the hose away from the box. Position the bottom of the hose slightly below the bottom of the filter box tube. Slide the frosting spatula out, to allow the bottom of the hose to slide onto the tube. Slide the top of the hose onto the tube, while making sure the bottom stays on. Tighten the clamp. Press the other end of the hose onto the engine if it hasn't already gone on by itself.

Pumping air into the master cylinder will not hurt anything. The air will always be above the fluid. Just don't run the master cylinder empty, and you will be fine.

The old filter has major water damage because the seals on the access door are going bad. If you replace the seals the water ingress will be less and the filter will last lomger. That filter you said is not torn is actually torn from being so wet over its life. That access door is a terrible design

Brother, I have watched SO many KZbin instructional videos over the years that I could only WISH I had all those hours back, but I have to tell you in all these years, yours is easily the most watchable, or at least among my top five. Your voice was clear and easy to understand, your instructions were complete and spot on. In short, I am no subscribed, and I wish I had discovered your channel years ago.

How can i remove the piston head from the piston rod? Do you have a video on that? Thank you
@bryanvance6629Ай бұрын
I have a gx690 and im having a problem removing the cylinder head on the right side. The motor is facing towards me so the gears are in the back. Im only messing with the front. Im taking everything apart to clean and check everything out. After the motor warms up, it tends to die or slowly die down after 20 minutes of running the machine.

Great video. I have the same code on the same car with the same issues and no clue where to begin until I found your video. Your troubleshooting was awesome. You solved my problem. I replaced my manifold converter for $61 on eBay. Thank you so much for taking the time to make the video.

Honda's auto choke is the biggest piece of crap ever invented for a mower. Carburetor assembly is another joke, trying to stack municipal items onto one assembly held on by the same two bolts that designer or engineer needs to be slapped silly. Gaskets are next to impossible to get in 2024. The thing will either never come off choke or will run at max RPM. The carburetor is very sensitive to debris. Get an in line filter between the tank and carburetor to save your sanity. In fact shop for another mower without this BS to save your sanity.

Great training video! My shop used this machine today on 4 new tires for my 2018 CR-V using the cone on the outside. Highest weight 3.25 oz and the rest below 2 oz, no shake going up to 90 mph (test drive). They did good, just wish my 4Runner was the same, shakes from 65-70 mph!

Thanks for the added help, but my hrx2174hya still runs ruff. Start 1st pull, surges big time until engage blade, then idles slightly rough afterwards (warmed-up) Noticed the governor arm still bobs when idling. Butterfly closed when cold (new wax working) and open when warmed up, so im at a loss. 2nd time ive done your r&r in 3 years with the same results so im ready for round 3 this winter - any thoughts ?

I'm currently trying to figure out why my motor will not work. I was mowing and it just all of a sudden died on me. I have replaced the fuel pump, the fuel filter, and the fuel solenoid on it. I still cannot get any fuel to travel down the line to the fuel filter. I was hoping that you might have some suggestions. Also, I was wondering what the fuel line that you were tucking around at the end of the video was supposed to go to. On my mower, it tucks down next to the oil filter and I cannot figure out what it is supposed to be connected to. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.
