Thank you, Rowane, for giving me the opportunity to watch that extraordinary performance.

Ms. Canellakis embodied Scriabin's spirit. One of the most difficult and complex symphonies ever written. She has shown, once again, that she's one of the greatest conductors of the century.

I love it ! Maybe horowitz would make the bass line sing even more. 😀 You could put a c# instead of c natural on the last beat of the second bar for example.

Oh I've been waiting for this to be posted 'coz I want to see how the concert went. I heard that it was a full house and the audience much applauded the artist. Hats off again, Ray Chen!!! 👏🌹🎻

easily the most satisfying sounding passage in the entire concerto, especially with ray's interpretation

I was there....the gasp from the audience when Ray mentioned he was playing Paganini was fantastic.....expectations were high and Ray Chen was FANTASTIC...🎉🎉
As an aficionado of Sibelius's music I attended my first live performance of his violin concerto in Edinburgh last night. Full marks to Ray Chen for a suberb performance.👏👏👏👏

Is the score available for purchase? This preserves the spirit of the original beautifully without being excessively difficult…

The distinctive qualities in Horowitz’s playing is in his large rachmaninoffian hands and the big booms that he produces in the lower registers

Funny. Yeah, much artistic pretence in the music world. Very much like a faked orgasm! However, there are musicians whose music pervades they body unconsciousnessly, causing spontaneous movement -- not for show but as an extension of nervous energy.

Thank you Roxanne to give us the pleasure of hearing the GENIUS of Mikhail Pletnev perform in 2023 at the Edinburgh Festival! His artistry playing Moszkowski knows no bounds. It is beyond us,
I would call it Moszkowski-Pletnev's etude - and at the end Moszkowski goes away, to let Mikhail paraphrase on his piece 😅.

I can't stand the exaggerated theatricals on some well known pianists-one in particular, with hands all over the place and facial contortions. It is a matter of choice-but give me Horowitz, Richter & Arrau seven days a week.
