It‘s my main divination tool. I love them for exactly what you’re saying: the earthing character and the simplicity. I also find them extremely accurate. Sometimes I’m really surprised about how accurate they are even if I work with them for a couple of years. ❤❤❤

Osteomancy started in prehistoric east and northeast Asia and Eurasia, actually. Primarily in nomadic populations, including Mongolia, etc. Not everything started in Africa, contrary to current societal claims.
@ravenonthehill8857
@ravenonthehill8857 4 ай бұрын
Hi there, I didn’t mention other forms of osteomancy because I wanted to focus specifically on bone casting. What you are referring to is scapulimancy which done in China where they took a scapula bone or a turtle shell, added markings and put the bone in fire to see how it cracked. This was around 1600-1046 BCE in the Shang dynasty. Also, anther form of osteomancy was done in Greece. They would use a lamb scapula and put it against a light to see if there were any cloudy areas or clear areas and they would divine that way…. So, actually, I was trying to be specific to bone casting…. But I can’t be 100% sure, I wasn’t there.

Oh man. I’m sorry. I’ve had two decks hate me in the past. One of them was not cheap either! I tried talking to it, cleansing it, putting it in timeout, and even a “come to Jesus” moment… nothing worked for me.

Are there any particular type of mat you should use to cast on
@ravenonthehill8857
@ravenonthehill8857 6 ай бұрын
From my experience, cast on what you like! Plenty of options out there: board, mats, pelts, wide bowls, and a few more that I can’t think of. Some have different zones on the mat to mean different things… sky is the limit ☺️

Bella blue and moonflower are the ones I have. I don’t use them often (although I should a bit more). When I do use the, it’s right before bed to help with dreaming. They can be used to help meditation too… but these ones contain baneful herbs, so use with caution.

Wood burning sounds like fun. I purchased a kit just for fun last year, but haven’t had the courage. Please consider videos of you using hodgepodge like the one on your alter and wood burning. Crafting can be such fun. You are such an inspiration. A true witch, in the most positive of ways. And all your videos are of such high quality (well the two I’ve watched so far, but I’ll be watching the rest of them). Blessed be.

I, too, have that trinket box that you showcased at the beginning of your presentation. It is indeed lovely. I keep pendants in it. I loved your idea of dressing the candle in essential oils. Not a novel idea, but I’ve never seen anyone dress it quite the way you did. I, too, love mugwort, rose petals, but especially love patchouli. It’s simply magickal. Your alters are beautiful, practical, and within grasp of anyone. And once again, thank you for sharing.

Your descriptions of each item are spot on. Really enjoyed it. Now, if you’d only set up Hekate’s altar (hopefully by Samhain) and give us a looksie at it. Even if it’s only a short video.

Hi there! Thank you for watching ☺️… so, my main goddess is The Morrigan, and only in the past 6 months or so have I started to get to know Hekate. I’ve read only one book so far, and now I have another to learn a bit more. I move my alters around all the time and change things up. I will be setting up one for Hekate… I will be using the items in this box (although I will make the rose stems shorter).

Even though these symbols might be more modern, the concepts of runes are extremely ancients. Different symbols might have been used by various cultures over time to represent the same needs and influences. Our basic human needs and humanity still connects us with all cultures.
