Dude I have two AP and mine do not sound like that. Your amp sounds weird, sounds so dark, flabby and grainy. That KSR had a lot of options, so it’s going around your amps problems. I have all the Friedman pedals and Revv pedals and the AP is the best. I’m not knocking the KSR bcs I want to try it, I almost feel like it sound even better through something eles. I guess you just use what you got.

I love the GT1000Core so much. I'm so happy I got that. The Helix does great stuff but the Boss just hit right at home for me!

The Vesta tone is warmer and fuller and that the type of distortion I like best, so that would be my choice.

I wish you guys doing these demos wouldn't always do it in some drop tuning. It would be nice if once in a while y'all played a regular, 6 string in E standard tuning through whatever you're testing cuz not everyone has a 7 string or plays in drop C tuning. Please...
@PariahVSGearАй бұрын
Hey man. I haven't done any guitar stuff in a while, but I always thought comments like this were interesting. So you know: - I started playing 7 strings because I didn't like the idea of down tuning. - I am only tuned half a step down. I GUARANTEE if you like rock and metal, some of your favorite players play in this tuning. I literally just have an extra string. - I even play a decent amount of "classic" metal riffs. Ultimately, this is why there are lots of people doing this. Watch the people who you identify with. But I think you are a little off in your response to what I do anyway.

I enjoyed your great video. Did you turn on the noise gate separately when playing high gain?

REVV needs treble turned up.

Honestly I'm not hearing a ton of difference between the two. I already have a Ceres, so I can't see spending $300 for yet another preamp. One thing the ISP has that I wish other devices had is the noise gate. That being said, not all noise gates are created equal. Also, the fact that the Theta runs on a very odd 9vac is an issue... maybe even a deal breaker. Ya gotta run another wire for that power supply instead of it running off of the standard 9/18vdc like most every other device out there.
@bretttrommler7562 ай бұрын
Well, I am thinking about this pedal. I just wish you guys would demo them a little more often with a guitar that isn't dropped down so far. I'm playing a guitar, not a bass. That being said, I do like your stuff and I am sub'd. No, the one thing that is keeping me from pulling the trigger on this piece is that it uses a very unusual 9VAC power supply, which of course, is nothing like what 99% of the other pedals use. I mean, c'mon, man! What is up with that? These days you can get a pedal board power supply that will put out an abundance of just about any voltage. Except that. That might be a deal breaker for me.

Late to the party but looking at Agile extended range guitars and your videos have been super helpful in considering and comparing potential pick up options. Think I'd definitely be okay with those stock pick ups for awhile.

I suggest a KHE ASX8 to switch between up to 8 tube heads on the fly quietly. ASX8 out to your Captor (load for tube heads) then into DAW. Setup once, no more wasting time unplugging and re plugging in, just to get a different sound (an inspiration killer)

I had the same problem man with the Horizon. Glad I traded it for something else. My god. I have the Ceres also and that sound good! Also combined with the Eros. But The Horizon Devices Apex preamp? Pfffff fuck that thing! You can buy 2 great sounding pedals for that money!

Nothing against Randall but CRATE yes Crate....has a clean channel that blows away Randalls clean channel. .I know,we dont buy it for the cleans ..... but I like that if I want to play actually clean, I can. This Randall clean is like distorted. ... And back to the gain channels. Ive found it really need s a Boost in front to make it sound really good.

Are you using a power amp sim here? I don't know about the ceres, but kraken preamp does not have a power amp emulation, can you go direct and load an IR anyway? Maybe running a graphic EQ and adding some low end instead of a power amp emulation would do it? Just thinking alternatives to use it without adding digital stuff in between, since it's a valve preamp I kind of hate the idea of using a power amp emulation... I tried an EQ on my daw and it seems to work pretty well but I would like to know if power amp coloring is something that I should use to get the best out of it.

Helpful amp review. I checked out the power tube config of each amp, and Eurotubes is showing an EL-34 kit for the Pittbull, and a KT88 kit for the Deliverance. This of course is not a concrete list of tube options, but nonetheless describes a power tube difference.

You’ve gotta try a 100/CLX, it’s like the Ultra-Lead but slightly less dry and more compression, I love them!

I have both. KSR Ceres is a trebly pedal, and Revv G3 is a dark pedal. They need to be EQ'ed differently in order to compare with side-by-side. When both were adjusted to the right EQ. Revv G3 is a little bit more articulate and amp-like to me. (but requires more equipment to support Revv G3, while KSR Ceres is easier to get a decent sound)

Standby switches are overrated and many amp builders opine that they’re not even necessary. I have this amp and I love it. Btw a lot of guitarists don’t know that you’re not supposed to engage the standby before turning the amp off. Doing so does not let the electricity drain properly, which could potentially be bad for the amp.

You’re absolutely right about not getting enough attention even though You along with other great KZbinrs have covered it. Preamps and distortions are getting so good at very cheap prices and saturated market craziness make it hard to choose. You and Ola sold Me on this especially with the Revv comment. Honestly I have been blown away By Joyo! Was wondering if You tried theLYR Rock clone, or any guptech or demonic stuff? Another preamp I’m wondering about is the 2716 Westminster. I’m a recto freak and haven’t found the one! Thank You and excellent playing/demo
